NPL watch 22/23

Probably some jigging about with teams needed. Obvious ones to me is Brighouse to the West from the East and Chasetown from the Midland to the West.

But there’s also the promoted clubs to take into account. Vauxhall and Wythenshawe would appear to be a simple swap for the two bottom placed teams. Not sure who is top of the Midland League

Still a long way to go yet though.
If four North West clubs take the drop from Step 4, the odds of which are likely perhaps, this could further exacerbate the issues raised by Edge on the Counties thread🤔

Hanley & Newcastle would be candidates for the Midland Division. Hanley being the most likely to be in the bottom 4 on current form.

Would’ve thought Newcastle would be safe enough even to avoid relegation play-off lottery - although I accept it’s early days still.

Linnets bottom of the form table & looking likely to drop out of the play-offs spots soon

Good wins for CoL, Trafford & Skem today.
A point for Widnes puts them level with Rammy now

And Witton get thumped 4-1 at Clitheroe. Always good to see.

Tonights results

Hanley Town 0 - 0 Ramsbottom United
Kidsgrove Athletic 2 - 1 Colne
Trafford 2 - 3 Skelmersdale United

Skem move above us.
Hanley, Colne & Rammy stay in the bottom 4

Hanley no wins from 11 home games

Some interesting results today.

Widnes are off the bottom after beating Mossley
Colne's win over crisis club Linnets puts them level with Trafford in the 4th bottom spot
Linnets helped by Clitheroe drawing at Hanley & Prescot losing at Newcastle but that final play-off spot looks up for grabs

Prescot manager Kevin Lynch has stood down for personal reasons.
I wonder if we'll have another mersey merry-go-round?

Who is currently available?

That was quick...

3 of the 4 sides in the play-off positions lost yesterday. Mossley who are just outside the spots failed to take advantage though, losing at home to Kidsgrove.

At the bottom Widnes jumped out of the bottom 2 & into an AGM cup spot.
Newcastle, Rammy, Colne & Hanley all lost with GNE picking up a point.
