NPL watch 22/23

Skems boss Paul McNally has left to join CoL

the Colne chairman has stood down

Widnes have sacked their manager.

How many managers have gone so far this season in the NPL?
It must be pushing double figures already.

How many of these are fan owned? Seems we are more patient. Some owners need to listen to their fans.

No problem with ours, even though we don't always agree with tactics etc...!!

CoL secured their first win today - 3-2 at Hanley
And our next opponents, Skem, lost up at Workington.

Widnes drop to the bottom & Worky are now third.

I would expect you to be too strong for Skem, they knocked the ball about well but apart from there 25 yard screamer didnt really threaten, unbelievably my team workington have strung 3 wins together and find themselves into 3rd without playing convincingly for a full 90 minutes, I still think the play off positions are wide open for anyone in this league.

Hanley Town are the latest club to sack their managers. Nothing to do with results, but due to increased business costs apparently.

Two away wins tonight.

Saturday's opponents GNE lost at home to Colne & Hanley won at Kidsgrove

Workington scored twice in the 90th minute to beat Widnes & move to 3rd.
Leek left it late to beat Clitheroe to keep the pressure on Macc, who won again.

And there are 5 points from 6th to 16th!

Colne are out of the bottom 4 after a 1-0 mid-week win at Newcastle.
And Saturdays opponents Widnes slip to joint bottom after losing 3-0 at Leek.

Macc lost again last night at Linnets!??

It sounded eventful.

Kane Drummond back from a suspension earned at Rylands was sent off. Their keeper was stretchered off & they ended up with an outfield player in goal!

Apologies for not updating this thread much - New Years resolution to add to it more often.

Anyway, not a bad set of results for us today.

Macc stuffed Leek in the title decider.
Mossley won at Runcorn. A third straight defeat for Linnets
CoL won at Skem to go above us & everyone else drew.

Rammy & Widnes a little bit a drift but it's really tight for the 2 relegation play-off spots.

8 games without a win for Trafford

Clitheroe player/manger is now just a player.

No games in the West today so I've had a look at the Prem.

The bottom 4 are Whitby, Marske, Liversedge & Belper. I don't see any of those joining the West next season.

Probably some jigging about with teams needed. Obvious ones to me is Brighouse to the West from the East and Chasetown from the Midland to the West.

But there’s also the promoted clubs to take into account. Vauxhall and Wythenshawe would appear to be a simple swap for the two bottom placed teams. Not sure who is top of the Midland League

Still a long way to go yet though.
