It's getting interesting at the top of the NWCFL.

Winsford beat Vauxhall on Monday.
Then Bury dropped 2 points at home to bottom side Ashton & leaders Avro won at challengers Wythenshawe Town.

And Vics have got by far the easiest run. Only Avro and Congleton away which are challenging.

The promotion chase seems to be getting interesting after more dropped points by one of the aspiring clubs tonight.

It looks like Avro, Vauxhall & Bury for the promotion & play-off spots now.

Bury are already playing every Sat/Tues & if they beat Congleton on Saturday they've got a two-legged Vase semi to add more congestion.

I’m told the semi final is only one game this season.

So it is & the same for the Trophy.
It helps with potential fixture congestion, but presumably one of the semi-finalists hosts their opponents? Bit of a possibly disadvantage for the unlucky clubs, particularly if it’s a drive from one end of the country to the other.

All 4 Vase ties went to penalties.
Congleton beat Bury, but West Dids went out.

Meanwhile, in the league, leaders Avro lost at home to Prestwich & Wyth won a 9 goal thriller with a 94th minute winner.

Today the Ravens from the Isle of Man moved a point closer to safety with a draw in the day’s only Sunday game.

Solid three points for Longridge tonight eases any lingering relegation worries they may have had.😜

Might be an injury crisis at Vics after the players were thrown under the bus by Wilkes on the post-match interview.

I did hear that they organised a meal for 70 odd supporters at Witton last Thursday but refused to pay for the food because the club had been decorated in red and white. Don`t know if there is any truth in it and I know someone is now going to say that there all odd so I thought I`d get it in first.

Tbf you have to react fast enough to be under the bus in time. Sort of the point Wilkes was making. Their fortunes will change in Saturday as he’s said there will be a reaction.

Happens on a regular basis Edge. Slagging them off on a public forum must do wonders for morale!

At least he's not throwing his players under a bus this time around. The subject of his ire on this occasion is one of his favourite topics - the officials!
