Ah, so does ‘people getting the hint’ include being bullied and demeaned so they have little or no choice but to leave? It depends on whether people get the hint and go or have to be pushed
The wearing of masks will no longer be compulsory, “as we wish to give people more freedom”.‘Destroyed’? They are at least still alive, unlike many others who were effectively sent to an early grave by the actions - or inactions - of Halfcock.
But at last Knutsfordian you appear to be conceding the point that this government are full of people like Hancock - a complete shower of shits.
He wouldn’t even miss £20k..?What lovely people we have running this country…..

Gary Neville: "The standard of leaders in this country over the last couple of years has been poor. And looking at that man there (Gareth Southgate) he’s everything a leader should be, respectful, humble, tells the truth, genuine, he's fantastic."He wouldn’t even miss £20k..?

30000 new cases and less than half of the country fully vaccinated. Johnson’s normal buccaneering, “I’m all right jack”, attitude will cost lives, as it did in the first two waves. Recall ‘eat out to help spread the virus’? And the stance re not requiring face masks is just plain crazy and utterly irresponsible. The wearing of masks will no longer be compulsory, “as we wish to give people more freedom”.
But what used to be legitimate protest will now be punishable by 10 years in prison.
This Government on the same day……???
The real truth about the impact of the Johnson variant.30000 new cases and less than half of the country fully vaccinated. But then again, that’s Johnson all ends up.
The England players don’t need the prize money as they are already very well paid. But this guy doesn’t need all his money, yet he’s happy for the poorest In Our society to have £20 - yes, you heard it. Twenty quid - less per week. What lovely people we have running this country…..

The real truth about the impact of the Johnson variant.
it is clear now that the idea that
decisions about opening up would ‘be based on the science’ as opposed to the economy was - quelle surprise - yet another Johnson porky-pie
I think that it is very, very unfair to label the Johnson variant the Johnson variant! The England players don’t need the prize money as they are already very well paid. But this guy doesn’t need all his money, yet he’s happy for the poorest In Our society to have £20 - yes, you heard it. Twenty quid - less per week.
Remember this?

Gosh, someone breathing! Never mind, the Johnson variant will soon put and end to these types of shenanigans!??
"Easing restrictions" is ok with me. But as with all risks, it is sensible to take any mitigating measures which help reduce the risk. Not sensible just to abandon all measures, cross your fingers & hope. Johnson isn't "easing", he's flinging the doors open & screaming "come on in"The vaccines are actually more effective against the Delta Strain. But I get some types want to carry this on for political points scoring…
Credit to Alan Marshall for this excellent post!"Easing restrictions" is ok with me. But as with all risks, it is sensible to take any mitigating measures which help reduce the risk. Not sensible just to abandon all measures, cross your fingers & hope. Johnson isn't "easing", he's flinging the doors open & screaming "come on in"

In any industry if you don't do what your boss tells you to do, it's career limiting. Civil servants are no different. A civil servant cannot go head to head with a minister and expect to surviveAh, so does ‘people getting the hint’ include being bullied and demeaned so they have little or no choice but to leave?
Pretty clear to me Knutsfordian that you went to the 1980’s Gordon Gecko school of management!
So the question is then James - when would you wind back these measures? It's down to personal responsibility. If you don't like crowds or risk then stay at home and keep yourself safe. At what point are the freedoms of the majority over ruled by the concerns of the nervous ninnies?30000 new cases and less than half of the country fully vaccinated. Countless US states, with lower vaccination rates than the UK, abandoned all restrictions months ago - infections, deaths and hospitalisation all continue to fall.
People are still free to wear masks, and keep their distance come the 19th. That’s their choice, and should be respected. In the same way people take their own lives and personal responsibilities back in the 19th should be respected.
I won’t be judging anyone for wearing masks and such after the 19th, in the same way I’d expect not to be judged for not doing so.
