Some famous names there Toddy. For the Vics and Albion XI Ashley, Robinson, Cowden and Fidler were Witton players there may be one two more I'm not sure.

It can only be the FA Cup then toddy, but what significance did it have to this friendly match and why is it in the programme?

There are some well knownManchester City players there but city did not win the FA Cup in that year. They won it 1955-56 season, several years after that match.

The people in the photo are,Harry Ware,Joe Mercer who is holding the sportsman of the year Trophy which he had won,the lady is Joe's mother holding the F.A. Cup,the other two men are not known.
The team that day had five Vics players in it and six Witton players the Vics players were.Alex Humphreys, Arthur Bateman,Len Hobson,Albert Johnson and Fred Basnett. The game ended in a 6-1 win for the Harry Ware team the gate was 8,000.The season after another game was played but I can not find the details of that game at the moment.
