I think we are all fighting on the same side here. The key aim is to reduce infections and minimise deaths.
To do that we have to reduce social interactions. At one end of the spectrum is social distancing and at the other end is a total lock down. We know we don't don't want to go down that lock down route for both economic and personal impact factors.
So the bottom line is people MUST keep social distancing rules. It isn't possible to protect the vulnerable without locking up all over 60's etc, so its beholden on everyone to do what they can to behave, be sensible and be respectful for those who are vulnerable. That way we should be able to get on with some aspects of our lives and save some parts of the economy whilst accepting that (say) foreign travel is going to be a pipe dream until there is a vaccination available
