Ian resigns

"Its the fans who are permenant,We need to get the fans back to games who stopped coming"
Despite what you may read elsewhere (it is amazing how misinformation gets absorbed so quickly) there is a difference in average gate of 18 between this season and last season. Not exactly an exodus.

Was speaking to a Linnets fan in work today, he was amazed at how many less 1874 fans there were from their first visit.

And he's right.

On their first visit on a cold, rainy Tuesday there was 560ish at the game.

Last Saturday on a mild spring afternoon just 350 souls.

Say runcorn had 125 then we had our usual 225 so no more than the previous week which for a derby game is really poor.
Need to attract these missing fans back somehow, hopefully 2 wins on the bounce.

Novelty does wear off think Linnets had the same thing at the start of there 3rd 4th season when they ground shared with Witton

They did indeed.

On Pete's point about 18 fewer on average - I don't think that was meant in a particularly positive light, or in the sense of "so it doesn't matter", it was just a counter to the alternative fact interpretation of the statistics which keep saying there are 150 fewer.

We all know if you repeat something often enough and loudly enough it will become accepted as truth, but still - as was once said (vague memories of it being Disraeli), "statistics are like loose women ..." (with apologies to all females on here)

What? Big Teeth like Janet Street Porter?

Not a fan of Janet Street Porter, Toddy?

I guess it all depends on how long ago it was that Ian told them and whether they believed he would go through with it.
