Witton and the Northwich Guardian

I actually think Simmo's reporting of Witton's conduct over the past couple of seasons has been extremely generous. He could have slaughtered them.

alan lowe WHS has now said sorry on the witton website and "will make no further comments on this issue" after casting a slur on a well respected local journalist accusing him of biased reporting on local football.perhaps alan has now realized Andy Simpson maybe reviewing his new witton book in the press OOPS!... alans done it again. You would think that age 71 alan would think a bit before making unfounded accusations as the song goes "WHEN WILL THEY EVER LEARN" lets hope alan has the decency to apologise to Andy

WHS has not apologised to Andrew Simpson only for causing a furore and neither will I unless he can defend the indefensible, this weeks shocking edition only highlighted how bad it has got. He may be a very good sports reporter but is He being fair to Witton Albion absolutely not and their must be a reason for it true I dont know his innermost thoughts so I can only guess at the reasons for the unfairness.

When did Simmo take on the Witton Albion FC Media Officers job?
Suggest you aim your frustrations at your own club rather than Northwich Guardian Senior 'Sports' Writer.
Your attitude is almost as bad as Colin Buckley's who threw a similar paddy and threatened to Jack in his paper round if Simmo didn't promote more JRFC articles.... Get a life.

I bet the witton chairman Mark Harris and the new media officer love CJ and WHS for upsetting the local press.you really could not make it up. "another head in the hands" moment for mark I think !

Newspapers are printed daily or weekly and then sold to people who want to buy them. Most are run as commercial concerns therefore need to make a profit. Thus they need to print stories and information that people will pay money for. This means that newspapers are very sensitive to what sells and what doesn't.
See it as a learning experience, grasp it with both hands and move with the times.

What a load of Bull***t you lot spout in trying to defend this unfairness. He is the reporter not us, its his paper not ours. Answer the facts relating to this week if you can. ?

what is the point of explaining anything to this clown.CJ at your next home game go and ask mark harris if attacking the local press is in the best interests of witton albion

its his paper not ours.
Think you've answered your own question.

It's not Simmo's job to ring the clubs asking for articles, it's the clubs job to contact the Newspaper. Can you imagine Simmo's workload trying to put together all weekly Mid Cheshire Sports articles over the phone. Cricket, Rowing, Cycling, Netball, Motor Sports, Darts, Bowls, Tennis, Athletics, Pool, Swimming, Rugby, Football, oh and Witton Albion.

Your biggest home game of the season coming up against Shaw Lane.
Where is the article on your webshite, archives, team news, managers interview?

Go away and analyse how many column inches over the season have been given to WA match previews and reports, how many times AS has been in person at a WA game this season, how many 'background' WA stories/inches there have been, and do the same for 74. Then we can see whether you have a leg to stand on with your arguments.

And while you are at it, add up how many of the articles for both were submitted externally and merely edited by AS/news staff, and how many were genuine AS articles. Then you might turn your attention to the failings of the WA media machine.
(there you go - a true community club, helping out its down at heel neighbours with a bit of advice ;) )

Edge! Can you move this topic to the 'Are Witton in Fallout' thread?

When all you can do is throw abuse you have lost the debate, hope Simmo enjoyed his away day at ACFC I know I did.
No ones abused you.....just taken the pi$$ out of you......different things altogether.
There's never any debate with you c.j......your not that clever!!.

Funny thing is your forums thread on this started off by abusing Andy!!.....o_O.
And reading the replies, you have more than made a fool of yourself with your own fans who don't agree with your comments on the matter (are you the next Alan Lowe in the making??)

It was explained in the post above. Here it is again in case you missed it.

They are opinions and statements not facts and the fact a Northwich paper would want in normal circumstances to sell to all sides of a footballing town so I ask again why the blatant bias ? and I know you are bit thick so will explain again : We are the highest placed team in the leagues with the best current support, our own stadium and a definite future in the town, I see now that reason, facts or debate are beyond your general level of intelligence.

Fact is 'this week' we have had more articles, sentences, punctuations, words, letters and numbers in Northwich Guardian than Witton Albion FC.

Nothing more to explain Calamity Jane.

Answer my question.... Where on your webshite can I find your Shaw Lane pre match info, archive stats, team news and managers interview?

Now if you're still looking for sympathy you'll not get it from us, you should try the dictionary in between shit and syphilis or the JRFC Forum, thats also shit and has a virus.

You are currently the highest placed team in the leagues with the best current support, your own stadium and a definite future in the town,
Now try reading, once again, the reality of selling newspapers - here it is:
"Newspapers are printed daily or weekly and then sold to people who want to buy them. Most are run as commercial concerns therefore need to make a profit. Thus they need to print stories and information that people will pay money for. This means that newspapers are very sensitive to what sells and what doesn't."
Now try to understand that - but if you don't it might be more appropriate for you to look at your inability to grasp other points of view rather than insulting someone you've never met and who has never called you anything to cover up your own shortcomings.
As I said above, see it as a learning experience, grasp it with both hands and move on in life. Honestly, you will feel much better for it and it could end up benefitting your football club.

The coverage changes from week to week. Some weeks there has been a large section on wi**on and 1874 have had next to nothing! It's swings and roundabouts. I've often looked at the back page and thought you've had a more than generous portion.....but I haven't gone off in a childish rant about it!!

Your points mentioned above:
Your position, league wise, is as high as vics and just one above 74.....and it's hardly pushing conference level is it!
Highest support...well your in the best position so it should be. Your a much longer established club than 74 and as for vics....well, that's just a train wreck!
But it's hardly something get excited about. 277 on a Saturday game when your pushing the top isn't as good as you'd expect or like.
You have your own stadium....relevance of that statement?? Why should that get you more coverage? It's just a stupid statement!
A definite future in town...unless you have a crystal ball that's another stupid statement. Yes you have a ground and a certain status but nothing is certain in life and with the same falling attendances non league seems to be suffering in general, "a definite future" is a bold statement which you can't assure!
All in all c.j., you've been Alan lowes puppet on this topic, your fans have disagreed with you and you've just made yourself look a complete idiot!!......pretty much the norm then!!

Slaughtered, for what?

We should have more coverage than you ! thats the points, this week on a week of equal importance to both you got nearly triple the coverage V**s can have a complaint but that not our problem although their gates are the lowest by some margin, Im nobodys puppet young Blackie and I will defend My club as I wish to, because I know for definite who I support no switching or wavering like you and other 1874 fans.
