"JRFC WILL NEVER RETURN TO NORTHWICH"

Fair enough, very close between us. With Vics' standard 120 I still don't understand how that makes you have more than us combined though!

I think you've inflated their gates by 100 there!

I think the calculations have been based on those match-day occasions when both us and WA have been at home and JRFC have had a game in Flixton. Like all stats, play around with them long enough and they'll always show you what you want!

(and at least ours and yours are real human being fans, as opposed to mysterious manifestations of an idiosyncratic accounting method - judging by independent obervations from people visiting Flixton) ;)

Just a question will they be naming Northwich Flixton Villa Northwich Albion Villa and am guessing they will ground sharing there aswell?

Oh yes, forgotten about them! Could make the fixture planning interesting if that lot survive into next season.

You had 394 against Buxton because of the returning jrfc fans "taking a look at there new home". 40/50 or so and maybe 30 from Buxton. My calculations reckon you had just about 300 at home for this game !?

Agree there were probably 30 odd Buxton fans there but there weren't any Vics fans as far as I'm aware (why would there be they know where WP is and have been there before?). According to my calculations that means there were almost 100 more Wittoners for our last home game than you had today.

Won't be a problem after our fellow fan owned club FCUM visit. Witton can rely on them to boost their best home game and overall average gate. Until then fingers crossed that the match on Tuesday beats their 414 best gate of the season so far, it's looking like it could and that's a huge 1874 statement ;)

Still either way I think it's an awesome stat to see two Mid Cheshire clubs in the top 100 of Non League, alongside our other fellow fan owned club Runcorn Linnets.

I've seen this "we get more fans than Witton and Vics combined" stat banded about a few times recently. I see there were 275 at your home game today (admittedly good in the league you are in) and yet we had 394 for our last home game against Buxton, who didn't bring many. Can someone please explain how this stat is calculated? Thanks.
Some weeks we have had more than witton/vics put together, some weeks you have higher. Check out non league matters and it will show our average is 356, yours is 347. So I would say that FACTS show we most have a consistently higher attendance than you....the team a whole 2 league higher!!

Btw, Runcorn linnets, top of the table only drew 285 so 275 not that bad really!

Not saying it's bad at all. But saying your average attendance is higher than ours and vics combined is absolute nonsense whichever way you look at it.

Paul on at least two Saturday's when all three teams have played at home,Witton and Vics gates added together have lower than 1874,I don't know about the average but if you add the total match's played by Witton and Vics and the dived it into the gates I suspect it might be lower than 1874.

Paul - serious question. Given your experience in the 90's and seeing what has happened in the green world have your fans ever considered setting up a trust?
Ours started when things seemed ok and the rest is history. Too many form when the crisis hits and then there's a lot of catching up to do.

The facts are on the link above toddy, for home games you average 9 more fans than us per game so far this season. Of the two Saturdays you refer too I know for a fact that one was in your big game against Glossop (and presumably against Winsford?). If we were riding high this season there would be more occasions when we would have more than you and vics combined, like we will when FCUM visit.

I was too young in the 90's to be involved with/interested in the financial side of things so I honestly don't know. Probably better asking one of the older Wittoners!

What you have to consider is Northwich Victoria in its Conference days were a far bigger club than Witton with much bigger support so considering that 1874 are basically run and supported by those same fans its not suprising you still get a good following.
It is dwindling though...

Paul I was just pointing out the facts not who we played, but if you wish a will work out the averages of all three teams and prove to you that Witton and Vics added together are lower than 1874,if I do that will you make a £50 donation to the 1874 bin fund if not I will make a £50 donation to Witton. But remember the average gates means the total games played by Witton and Vics devided into the total gates of both clubs, and the the total games played by 1874 into the gates.

Matt clutching at straws there's,would you like to take Paul's bet.
