the witton steward said it was first time he had known the bar to run dry.I have no knowledge of wittons attendance there may indeed have had more on the ground,but it does not mean they went into club and spent any money !.the last time I saw witton all the witton fans seemed to bring flasks with them (I thought it was standard issue for them).How ever once again 1874 have set another record champion pie eaters and beer drinkers. congratulations all round methinks

Probably right Tez but on the other hand I'm certain that we didn't make a fortune either which Blackie and one or two others seem to imply.

From what Iv gathered the pontefract game was a very lower rent figure than it would usually be, which was a nice gesture from witton for Paul and much appreciated. So yeh whilst I fail to believe that witton didn’t at least break even it wouldn’t surprise if it was very close
