if the NWCFL want to mould it at a neutral ‘safe’ venue, Witton don’t have a home game on 26 SeptemberGiven the announcement earlier today re restrictions in Halton, I can’t see the Macron Cup final going ahead - unless the game is switched to Townfield
The guidance on the Halton Council web site advises Residents against attending any semi pro sporting event. So although we await further advice from HM Government/ The FA and NWCFL, I really can’t see how Town can even stage the game given the view of their Local Authority. One might suggest that given the guidance, they, us and the NWCFL might be deemed as being somewhat reckless if we agreed to the game going aheadFolks
At this moment, we are planning that the game is on. However we understand that the Prime Minister is holding a press conference tomorrow and we will see if he gives any clarity on new measures. This is of couse, is bigger than 74 or Runcorn Town. Both clubs will take direction from the League and FA and ultimately the local authorities/government. The one thing I know is that everyone will be expected to adhere to strict guidance, as at all games.
As soon as we receive more information, we will let everyone know asap.
If the club keeps our ticket money then that would be the cost of video of the closed game if that is what happens. The club is more important than a ticketMy wife suggested that if the game has to go ahead without spectators can it be videoed and put out live on say you tube ? Then ask supporters to send a donation to the club to pay for the cost. It may not be practical for Saturday but is there merit in trying it for later games? One of her better ideas I thought!
