One of those rare moments where I agree with something Boris Johnson said:
"things like the Iraq war did not create the problem of murderous Islamic fundamentalists, though the war has unquestionably sharpened the resentments felt by such people in this country and given them a new pretext. ... The Iraq war did not introduce the poison into our bloodstream but, yes, the war did help to potentiate that poison."

Michael Fallon doesn't agree with those words though

The Tories are having an absolute shocker!

I'm beginning to think the theory that says they're trying to throw the election so that they don't have to deal with Brexit has some legs!

If they're not throwing it then jeez... how can we expect this rabble to run the country when they can't even run a half decent election campaign?!

Mr 'unelectable' is wiping the floor with Mrs Mayhem **despite** her personal smear campaign.

Possibly because he's saying everything and anything he thinks people want to here. Also because the Tories have failed to point out what a truly terrifying proposition having him as PM would be because they've been firefighting their own shambolic manifesto.

Don't worry about that Kit. That's what the Tories have the MSM for. They do all their dirty work.

If the Tories had spent a fraction of the time they've spent trying to oversee a Corbyn smear campaign, on getting their own policies and own personnel in order, they mightn't be in the downward spiral they are. May is not Prime Minister material and, unfortunately for her, her diversion tactics have only succeeded in proving that.

After that showing tonight on C4 it is no wonder May refused to go head-to-head with Corbyn. If she gets to lead Brexit talks she'll waffle the rest of the EU to sleep.

I agree Nicki, both weak leaders. May has managed to blow a healthy lead in the polls with a misjudged campaign. Although they've gone quiet for the General Election, Corbyn can't even lead his own MPs never mind the country. Apart from Dianne Abbot, I've not heard any labour MPs seriously backing his socialist agenda. Smears have gone both ways, as they always do during a General Election.

Corbyn must be weak because that's what the press has been telling us since he became leader of the LP and that's what they want us to believe. The fact is though, one of these leaders is considerably stronger than the other and it's not the one who's been telling us ad nauseum how strong she is.

The Tories have got this one very wrong by trying to make it all about May vs Corbyn, and Brexit. It was a gross misjudgement. It's just unfortunate that they won't ultimately get what they deserve for treating the electorate with the contempt that they have.

Bunch of useless berks.

Totally agree, May hasn't looked like her heart is in it and has has an appalling campaign. She's done and said nothing that people might actually want to hear. Corbyn's manifesto is probably a small fraction of his true socialist plans, it would unravel very quickly but he's had a good campaign. I think it'll be close.

Have to admit that May is getting absolutely hammered by Corbyn in this campaign. He is coming across as a way better leader of the people.

Having said the above I am completely torn as I want to see us properly out of the EU asap and I'm not sure the Labour party will deliver that. For the first time in many years I am seriously considering not voting.

PS - I know Blackie and Toddy don't like me posting on your site but I just wanted to give my opinion. Thanks.

It's going to be a strange old election that's for sure. The country seems completely divided on which of the two parties is the best of a bad bunch.

It's a no-brainer for me but then Brexit has less significance and I think the difference on what the parties will deliver on Brexit is less than what they will deliver elsewhere. They are in control of the latter but not the former.

If nothing else - vote for who you want to be ***your***MP. That angle has been completely forgotten during this campaign it seems.

Good post. Can someone tell me how I should vote please?? Are the monster raving loons still around?

I've stayed out of the political debate and will continue to do so. However can someone explain what is a "bad deal" and IF we walked away from the negotiating table, what "no deal" would look like for the country and how we as a nation could move on without a deal?
Genuine question, no party political histrionics about Corbyn, Fallon or May please. Just looking for a straightforward answer.

Let's be honest, Corbyn has seriously reigned himself in for this General Election and done it very well. His manifesto is only a slight reflection of what he believes. He can't deliver what he wants to because he completely wants to revolutionise every aspect of the country and even his own party aren't behind him to do it. You'd just get 5 years of Labour infighting.
I have been seriously disappointed by May and she has lost a lot of goodwill but I trust her to deliver Brexit.

Don't listen to Kit :D

Vote Labour! May couldn't deliver a pizza, let alone Brexit.

Are we helping you Paul?

Agree Kit. May making a big thing of the fox hunting issue has seriously made me think she doesn't actually want this. She has literally ***** off 70% of her supporters with that one policy (including me!). Why on earth did she do that?? I'm not sure Corbyn wants it deep down either but he is certainly coming across as the much stronger. It has to be the monsters for me at the end of the day! :scarf:
