Nicked from an idea from Alex Dickenson on FB, in order to get away from all things negative (JR, Brexit/remain) post a video from your favourite band or artist of the moment. I'll kick off with this:

Given I went to see Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott at Delamere Forest last week, I thought I'd pop this one on as well.

Thanks Chubbs, my choice is Ben Watt. For those of a certain age you will recognise him as one half of Everthing But The Girl. As per Jack 's post above he was the last gig I went to.

I mind blowing band, a band I can genuinely just sit and listen to. Definitely worth a listen if your in to rock music, progressive music or anything a bit different.

Seen this band about 5 times now live. Each time I come away absolutely mind blown. Nothing better than seeing this band in a tin venue like the Deaf Institute in Manchester.

Last gig I went to, ticking off a line on my bucket list, was to see the very beautiful Rick Astley. I fell in love all over again!

Vicki - This is supposed to be a thread about music. By its very definition, this rules out the hugely over-rated and incredibly dull Simply Dead (very similar to the Engerland football team in many respects!) and The Newton-le-Willows Quiff and hip-gyrator. Both are simply, simply dreadful. Awful. An affront to the word music. Should be confined to tacky hotel lobbies and lifts if you ask me.

But if we are talking about music, then how about these?

I raise you Ray Davis with a sideways smile and gap in his teeth plus Dave Davis inventing the rock guitar solo by taking a razor blade to his little green amp. Sorry about the klingon subtitles but love this vid.
The award winning (and brilliant) musical Sunny Afternoon coming to Manchester soon for a short stint. Worth a visit for those so inclined.
Thank you for the days Ray.

A bit of self praise is never good, but this was one of the first things I did video wise, it now has nearly 140,000 views on youtube! Go me!
The song is all about lost love, maybe ironic?

With the latest edition of FIFA being released today, I thought I'd pop in one of my favourite songs of the game from 10 years ago.

Manchester Academy - many a great night spent there. Unfortunately missed out on seeing Nirvana in 1991. They moved onto bigger venues after that!!

Is Bez still alive?!

Nice set up at the academy, especially in the smaller ones in the Student Union. Been some cracking gigs in the Club Academy (The Basement).
Infact, all along and around Oxford road has some great venue. Deaf Institute is a particular favourite.

And yes, Bez is somehow still alive.
