The fans music thread

Nice set up at the academy, especially in the smaller ones in the Student Union. Been some cracking gigs in the Club Academy (The Basement).
Infact, all along and around Oxford road has some great venue. Deaf Institute is a particular favourite.

And yes, Bez is somehow still alive.

No tell me why bye

Listening to this a lot at the moment.

That voice reminds me of another artist, it's really gonna do my head in trying to remember who!

She usually gets compared to Cerys Matthews, Macy Gray or Amy Winehouse.

Macy Gray, that's the one.

That song in particular reminds me of Macy Gray meets Amy Mac Donald.

A band for the lovers of Sigur Ros and Rock music...

Solstafir are without question my favourite band. Every album is as good as every other. Every time i've seen them it's as mind blowing as every other time I've seen them live (although having said that, nothing will beat the show at the Deaf Institute in 2015).

Some songs are in English
Some songs are in Icelandic
But every song is based around the instrumental side

If you're a fan of Sigur Ros, and a fan of a bit of Rock music, I cant recommend this band enough.

Not bad that. I think our musical tastes are more aligned than our politics Andy!

'Always'? Are you sure?

History will probably confirm Status Quo's Down Down would be more fitting.

Just saying...

Not sure if this should be here or the Election thread but this randomly played in the car this morning - it was on random play, not suddenly spookily playing music as if controlled by some unseen force.

Today is my birthday. Happy birthday to me.
(A day I share with Jim Rushe as it happens.)

It is also the 34th anniversary of the release of Iron Maiden's Piece of Mind album.

As a birthday present from me to you, here is Flight of Icarus from that album.

Saw a band called The Thyme Machine last weekend, similar to Half Man Half Biscuit. James, Edge, if you've never heard them, check them out, i think you will both like them.
