Jack Marrow

Couldnt agree more ,all this criticising our players , constantly looking to blame someone ,not just anticipating but talking ourselves into the abyss, stating the ****** obvious like we are M of D pundits ........ jeez its not the end of the world and there's still a lot of games to go ! As Damian says in this weeks Managers Comments - one win can lead to two then three and suddenly there's a different complexion about things . It's confidence the team needs restoring but the negativity can not be helping , turning up knowing we have got each others back, sticking together is the least we can do . Anyone who has played sport to a decent level must realise this happens in football, there is no divine right to succeed , its cut throat and when you're down the boots rain in but lets not kick our own ! We know the squad is light at this moment in time with some taking the easy option and taking up the next convenient offer .We've lost some talent but its not like all the players who have gone have been outstanding for us, indeed some couldn't hold down a regular starting spot, form was in and out and they had their critics even in the "halcyon days". Keep real but get a smile on your face , you will feel better for it !
Completely agree with you Stu. Not easy watching at present but these are times that you need to dig in and back the lads. One win - however unlikely it might seem at present- could be the catalyst that we need to go on a little run 🤞🏻 💚🖤💚🖤

Spot on 💚🖤 Tje season still has a way to go.

Jack starts at right-back for Kidsgrove today

The previous managers are the reason we’re in this position, they never built a squad to compete at this level. But a good result today and some winnable games coming up. The players who have left is because they don’t want to be part of a losing team but they were the losing team.

Have you ever thought that there was a reason why they weren't able to bring better players in?? 🤷

Money talks in non league football. At the end of the day players have got to earn a living so understandably will go where the money is.
You may not agree with it but unfortunately it's a fact.

That’s crap Dave. The side stayed up comfortably in our first post Covid season and although we finished just outside the relegation play off spots last year, the loss of McKenzie O’Neill was a major factor in our late season decline.

But the pre-season recruitment last summer was very poor and this, allied to the loss of Joe Woolley, Liam Buckley and Mackenzie meant that we went into the start of this season with a squad that - as quickly became apparent- would struggle to hold its place at this level.

Since then we’ve then lost Jack Irlam, Fenton Green and now Jack Marrow. I’d argue that any club at this level who’d lost as many key players as we’ve done in this space of time would be struggling.

Agree 100%

Opinions James everyone is entitled to have them.

Jack Marrow was one of our few remaining shinning lights of arguably our worst ever 1874 squad. I have no problem that he had decided to leave the club and I wish him all the best.

Frankly, the whole team will need a complete rebuild when we are relegated. I feel sorry for our current manager, but he is not the man to take us into next season
Would agree with this, feel we're best preparing now for the inevitable and if the manager isn't going to be with us in the Midland league then make the change and allow someone to build a squad capable of bringing us straight back up. I was not at Mossley but draws aren't enough right now, I wish it were different.

You realise that it's in our own hands? Beat Trafford twice and win our game in hand then we're above Trafford and level on points with Hednesford. That's without including Vauxhall (not won since before xmas) and Hanley (Sat was first win since mid-december).

If Mossley are an indication of what the teams around us are like then we're well in this still. The fixtures have been hard to us, but we're coming into a better run now. We need to take advantage of it.

and off the park it will be interesting to see how the C of L thing rolls out ....

They've got 6 weeks to find someone with a ground at the right level and that will trust them enough to share a ground. Easier said than done going by the rumours.

So what are their alternatives?
Marine - they already have AFC as tenants.
Prescot - previously declined citing their own academy development would take up the space.
Vauxhall - suggestions have been made that it was a Bootle type scenario that saw them move out.
Burscough - non-starter ground wise.
Chester & Southport - would be costly in rent?
👆
Widnes - ditto
Lower Breck, Litherland, Ashville South Liverpool - ground grading issues surely?

It doesn’t look straightforward*

*while interesting (and concerning for CoL) to debate, I’m confident we’ll leave other clubs to ponder their AGM Cup prospects, while we gradually move out of the bottom
two 😉💚🖤

Widnes until the end of the season & then do a Skem??

Vauxhalls not won since Xmas but when was our last win? I love the rose tinted glasses but think it's naïve of us to believe we're heading anywhere but down if there aren't changes and fast. Saturday is a must win or else the club may as well prepare for the Midlands league now

If we can produce the effort the lads put in saturday and get a decent crowd behind us we can win, lets hope that dodgy bounce or that little bit of luck goes our way.
Hopefully see you all saturday.

We've got to turn a corner at some point. It's well and truly Damian's team now, so hopefully it clicks.
Our next few games are mostly against teams in the bottom half and 3 are against teams we have beaten.
2 vs Hednesford & 1 vs Trafford. All must win, but we can win them.

With the amount of rain forecast and the game at Townfield last night, I worry that the Trafford game will be postponed again.
