Agreed wholeheartedly from down here - though my (ahem, German) wife begs to differ. A refreshingly positive end to a tournament for a national side.

Fantastic World Cup for the Lionesses, with a touch more luck we could have been in the Final (deserved that). A third place finish to bring a medal home is excellent. Beating Germany too is the icing on the cake (sorry Mrs Marshall). Superb team spirit, heart and determination with damn good technical ability thrown in!! No play acting or ill discipline...England men, were you watching?!

I'm thrilled that the womens' game is flourishing, I was born in the wrong era (no team for me to join!) but these ladies are inspiring the next generation, including my own daughter. Fantastic!

One differance I noticed between the men & women. The ladies appeared to play for each other whilst the men seem to play for their expenses.
