Vics vs Witton Tonight

Lowest for a Witton hosted match, which before tonight stood at 1,300.

Tonights estimated ratio is 7:1

According to 'A Team For All Seasons' - Ken Edwards' fantastic book about the 'real' Vics, not the sham club that currently operates under the same name from WP - on March 23 1966 the Derby game at TDF was watched by just 976 fans. This was on a Wednesday evening so presumably the Boxing Day game that had been scheduled for that day had been postponed and this was the re-arranged fixture.

Hence, last night's attendance would indeed appear to be the lowest league derby between the two clubs.

That says everything. Sad.
Edit ... it did, but now it's been deleted!

Meanwhile I note that the JR forum is buzzing with comments ;) , and the WA forum is fairly indifferent to it as a derby "spectacle". Also ultimately a sad reflection on the state of affairs.

I spent a grand total of £42.95 the other night, not to bad considering all the names I get called

Why? Did Jim tell you it'd count as rent money?
