Oops. Sorry for the late posting. I asked Shifnal for confirmation but got no reply and forgot to put it up yesterday. Most of this stuff is from last year and I have not re-checekd pubs - but those of you who go will work that out for yourselves!

Local pubsAnvil inn (Black Country ales) is on the walking route from the station 22 Aston rd, TF11 8DU. Apparently it has 10 hand pumps, 3 BCA, 5 guests and 2 Cider (Anvil Inn, Shifnal - CAMRA Experience). Other pubs are available (Pubs & Clubs around TF11 8PD - CAMRA Experience) but people seemed to like Black Country in Penkridge.
Local places of interestSome beautiful places to walk around in Shifnal. Also have the local Ironbridge a short drive away as well as Telford

Another disappointing result I’m afraid.

We started well and got a deserved lead through a great Simms strike. On top and could have been two or three up.

From the run of play Shifnal equalise after winning a penalty from our own corner and then settle into the game thereafter. Their second goal was a counter from a poor throw from us and the third was another free kick that we didn’t deal with.

Three goals conceded from set piece situations and all avoidable. Unless we address this fast we are going to continue to struggle to win games. It’s a familiar story I’m afraid and with results going against us we are now further adrift in the bottom four. Congleton at home on Tuesday is a must win.

The 3 other clubs that played in step 9 last season are all in the top 10. We are adrift at the bottom …not good enough frankly. Our defence is the problem and needs to be addressed quickly …Padiham are no better than us after seeing them in both games BUT they organised at the back and don’t concede many goals…..big changes needed at the back ….

Didn’t go to Bootle game so didn’t know what to expect.
Sadly came away bitterly disappointed. We played well for most of first half with the midfield playing well for a change. First goal conceded was stupid play by Mwaliteta. A terrible corner and then ends up with an unecessary tackle to give a penalty.
From then on Shifnal gained confidence and we became disorganised and conceded a second goal to poor play. Though it was a good goal. Multiple substitutions made matters even worse. We could have lost by 4 or 5 by the end of the game.
I’m sorry to seem negative but from what I’ve seen this season so far we are poor and players need to realise you need to play for 90 minutes minimum. Can’t see where next win will come from and some players not up to this league s standards.

We know results aren’t what we want at the minute.

On behalf of the club I want to thank everyone for their loyal support. What a turnout today and better times will come.

On to Tuesday - we need EVERYONE there, behind the lads from minute one to the end. We are ‘74
