Three things from today, first up, well done again boys, class team spirit to pull it back.
1. Let’s get at teams from the off (easy to say from the sideline).
2. Why can’t linesman give a simple throw in without waiting for the ref to award it first when that’s what they’re there for.
3. Thank fook Chris Broad isn’t involved with 1874, he’s got the best eyesight I’ve ever seen from behind a dugout 50 yards away but footballs not good for his health.
That’s it 👍⚽️

Strange game. We were vastly superior to Padiham playing the ball around but they created far more chances than we did. I think our penalty in the second half was our first shot on target. Once it got to 2 each we really started to play and with a bit of composure could have won it but Padiham also had chances as well. So a draw was a good result especially since Padiham had 2 goals ruled out for offside and handball in the first half.

The first half was like a testimonial.
Both sides were trying to pass the ball around but at a pedestrian pace

2nd half we concede after some pinball in the box then a great strike gives them a 2 goal lead. Not sure why we didn’t close him down though.
I think the penalty came from a corner with Simon pulled down & a handball. Not sure which one it was given for
And then Josh Woods fires home with his first touch after a long throw.

It got a bit silly then with the game being wide open and end to end
A point gained or two dropped? No idea

First half was terrible. In fact I’d go as far as to say boring.
Second half completely the opposite. Good comeback when subs came on but should never have allowed Padiham to go 2 ahead in first place.
Our defence stood still and watched for first goal and although the second was a great strike we just gave far too much room for forward to hit it. We look very suspect in defence and for a lot of the game timid in attack.
Niall Osbourne was exceptional I thought.
Anyway fair result in the end.
Oh and ref was terrible.

Great spirit to come back from 2-0 down. I thought the ref was dreadful today but was not biased towards us as one of their management team thought. We should probably have had 2 more pens in the second half, one for handball (corner given) and one for a foul in the pen area (but I am, of course, unbiased).

Now, the important stuff. Golden goal 49 minutes (not sure if claimed), 50/50 - 61476 - £70 claimed (Phil Whitehead). Football card - Sunderland claimed (Steve Parker). Attendance 256. MoM nominated by our matchball sponsors, Seymour Construction - Naill Osborne

Another good fight back from two goals down. Need to start winning games though especially at home with some tough away matches to come and to make ground on the teams above us.

A very difficult game away at Bootle on Tuesday now.

100% agree with the Broad comments, he should never be anywhere near 1874 what a plonker
A fight back from 2 down is great, but really we should have had 3 points today
Let’s hope we can start to get a goal up in a few game’s going forward

But the first was handball and the second offside. So they were in no way legitimate! So to intimate that we were somehow lucky because they were chalked off just doesn’t make sense to me.

Strange how different people see the same things differently.

But I’d agree that the first half was a complete snooze fest bereft of any quality.

Then they go two up, we make some changes - which as on Tuesday proved to be very effective - score the pen, get the equaliser- and then we strung together some great football.

When Kenny snd Evra are on the pitch at the same time, we’ve got real pace and dynamism in the final third. I thought that Ibrahim made a telling contribution when he came on - and things must be heading in the right direction when there’s a J Wood on the scoresheet😉😂!

In both the last two games I’ve seen more to be optimistic about than negatives and I really do think that Rory is now moulding a side that is capable of holding its own in this lesgue
