Non League Season in Summer

Well I just had a thought (probably not the first person to think this), problem non league has in general is that the clubs are always competing with televised premier league, Europe etc....nowadays people choose to stay in their nice warm house and watch football rather than attend games on a freezing winter midweek evening.

Maybe non league season should move to the summer months, yes we have the odd World Cup and Euros but that is only a few weeks. Maybe people are more likely to attend non league in the light summer months and the overheads in terms of getting pitch ready and floodlights etc has to be a lot smaller.

Maybe this is something non league should be seriously considering. The only hiccup is the FA Cup but if the season had some overlap may to jan then all the non league clubs out by then

The other potential problem is some clubs share some or all their facility with other sports. Stourbridge and Matlock (?) for example, have cricket clubs adjacent to their pitches.

Hmm they may have to think outside their cricket box
