GAME ON!

A Northwich Derby in the Cheshire Senior Cup awaits!

Get down and give the lads your support! 👊

Marginally better tonight than Saturday but still poor. Kept in the game by good saves from Max in goal.
Witton much the better team and deserved to progress to next round.
Still find it difficult to see where next win will come from. Depressing.

I'm beginning to think he's being stubborn by putting Niall at leftback. Talk of three players coming in before the weekend, lets hope it's Alphonso Davies at leftback, Rodri in Midfield and Harry Kane upfront.

Thought that was loads better in terms of effort compared to Saturday.
Tried to pressure and close down their back four, rather than let them knock it about and set up attacks and caused a few errors.
Made attacking changes to try and force an equaliser.
Achilles heel is crosses into the box, just can’t seem to defend them

Much better last night. Created much more up front with the two young lads working their socks off and producing good runs that the midfield found on quite a few occasions. The final shot or cross was unfortunately lacking.

There was still some frailties at the back but Max again played so well. Especially being vocal when claiming through balls.

Although being disappointed to lose I came away in a miles better frame of mind thinking the lads gave so much effort to try to get a result. It was pleasing to see our subs used in a better way and going 3 at the back when chasing the game actually helped the defence.

On to Saturday on a more positive note. See everyone there.

Agreed much improved last night, but another cross headed in and we created very little.
The forward line looks lively and dangerous but we really struggled to get the ball to them.

Witton knocked the ball around nicely but we seemed to lose possession after one or two passes.

Promising signs though

Both prizes claimed - football card Bournemouth (Finn), 50 50 for £50 - 28287 (Phil Burgess). Crowd 290 (and it appeared to be considerably more Witton than 74).

Enjoyable game and 74 were no where near as bad as I thought they would be. Who counted 290? Looking forward to Boxing Day.

Do you think there were more or less? I think it was not far off that. Counted by our treasurer, not me!

Sadly a significant number of 74 fans not in attendance, plenty of possible reasons - Cup game, thry thought we'd get pumped, plenty of European games on the box, iffy weather.
