Surprised that there’s been no comments on here yet.

IMHO another encouraging performance in so many respects apart from how we conceded the goals! Soft doesn’t do them justice!

Two breakaways - one from our corner kick the second from when we had a throw level with the edge of their box - and the third was a free header from a a free kick which was simply chipped into the box with no-one tight on their man.

Now the good points. I thought that Mike Ibeto was immense. His best game by far for the club. I thought that the combination of Ibrahim and Simon

In midfield us much more of a physical presence in midfield. I fact I think that overall the squad is far stronger physically than we’ve ever had - which we know from our previous experience at Step 4 is a pre-requisite for having a chance to stay at this level.

Both Kenny and Evra pose a problem for opposing defenders with their pace and strength, but both did noticeably tire in the second half. And all the players who came off the bench made positive contributions.

So given all these positives, then why the hell are we in the bottom 4?

Concentration levels? Naivety? Lack of experience? Mental toughness and resilience? Dented confidence after the result at Bootle when they played so well but ended up conceding 6 goals?

It’s certainly not a lack of effort, endeavour, application or individual ability, but for some reason we just can’t sustain the levels of performance we’ve seen for significant periods of matches for the entire 90 minutes.

It’s so bloody frustrating as I really do believe that Rory has now moulded together a squad of players who are capable of playing at this level.

But at the end of the day it’s a results based game and therefore Tuesday’s match at home to Congleton really does become a must win game.
