Ruthless from Bootle. Still not over the decision not to give a penalty for the clear as day handball by their lad in the first 20 minutes which denied us a goal too!

You couldn't fault the effort today but Bootle had that extra bit of quality.

No idea about the handball as I was behind the goal & my view was obscured

Another depressing afternoon.
Tried hard enough but Bootle were quicker to the ball, physically stronger and better organised. They have proven goalscorers too.
Likewise didn’t see the handball incident - too far away.
A long uphill struggle ahead on this evidence.

Felt the shape and effort today was definitely better than it has been in recent times. We were good value for a point before conceding the first goal. I think if Sam or Eric were available today it would have made a world of difference in the midfield. Hopefully a new Manager can come in and make a few signings to add to the current squad as we look a little short of depth.

Starting to think we won’t survive this season. As others have said, lots of effort - but lacking a little quality

Today was never going to be easy. Came out and battled against a strong and organised bootle side. It wasn’t a 0-4 game and we weren’t disgraced today, far from it. Can’t say we look like scoring all that often when we do get near the opposition goal, think we lack that clinicalness. Sam/Eric in the middle could’ve helped, think Benji looked abit out of his depth (expected given that he’s not a natural cm, so can be forgiven I think!)

Was good to see a few faces who’ve been staying away return to the stands today, good attendance (albeit boosted by maybe 50 bootle fans). Onwards and upwards.

If it takes a bigger budget to keep us in the league then we as owners need to supply extra cash if we can afford it. We get membership too cheap we need to ask those that can pay more to chip in more.

Said it before, we need someone who buys into our ethos but also can perform miracles on a small budget, otherwise we’re doomed to NWC football again. Be brave, pick the right man.

Today’s result emphasises why the previous managers had to go. They have left a team heading for relegation. Let’s hope we get someone who can turn this around.
And also allowed players to leave without a fight? The time was right to bring in a new manager….my concern is … why the deadline for applications in 2 weeks. By the time interviews take place and then making an appointment it could mid December!! It’s all well and good having an all singing dancing job advert… we just need a ‘football’ manager in place as a matter of urgency.

Good gate today.. touching 400 with the juniors/parents etc. Never a 4-0 game but Bootle were excellent and their work rate top drawer. Any thoughts on who our new manager may be? GTF possibly a good shout…..

Agreed, why make the deadline so long? No offence to mate or mark but we could be in real trouble in two weeks

There was definitely a lot more fight and effort today. The 4-0 score line was harsh but Bootle just had more quality in the final third.

Attendance was good.

Hopefully get a new manager in asap.

“allowed players to leave without a fight?”

And your evidence for this assertion is what exactly? Simple fact is that if players aren’t on a contract and other clubs put 7 days notice of approach then if they choose to leave then we have no power to stop them.

Of the 5 key players who have left us since the end of last season - Liam Buckley, McKenzie O’Neill, Jack Irlam, Fenton Green and Joe Woolley, all have either gone ‘bigger’ clubs who have better facilities and / or are willing to pay them far more than we can! ☹️

I think a two week deadline is standard. Potential managers will want time to watch the team (I would hope) and weigh up the situation. A manager that puts in an immediate application might just be one in need of a job. I do think the moaning and criticisms are getting slightly ridiculous. We can’t say we want the right person for the job and not allow any time for that to happen!

Somebody who talks sense - the amount of moaning and critical voices is horrific.

This is OUR club - people make decisions for the right reasons, trust the people we’ve appointed and believe they have the best interests in the club at heart - I certainly do.

The club are basically dammed if they do, and dammed if they don’t. This season is going to be tough, we all know that - we need to get behind them and be loud and proud.

All of it comes from a place of caring about the club and wanting the best, so it’s understandable.

The last three games of conceding four in each have been difficult and sad to watch and it has been for a while now. No surprise that we’re a lot weaker considering the quality of player that has left us the last couple of seasons.

However, yes we do need to get behind the club now in difficult times and whoever the new manager is. Every club has bad moments and I’m sure we’ll come out of it on the other side for brighter days ahead. Onwards and upwards!

We have scored just 13 league goals this season. The lowest amount of all the teams in the league.

But often new managers will bring in new players with them. So hopefully a new manager with a different set of contacts can make steps to resolve this issue.

It will be a bumpy few weeks, but in the long term an exciting time.

It’s only November, and the table is tight, just a few wins and suddenly you’re looking at the top 10. So I’m not too worried.
