Today

Fantastic, so proud of this club. So glad we won for the Chairman and delighted we won in front of a large crowd who can see what we are all about. I know it was a emotive and much promoted tie, but surely that attendance tells you there is still potential interest out there.

I think we could do with trying w*tton again for a future league game before we can really judge whether the level of interest is really there but it was still a great attendance today

More to it than attendance. Witton pitch suits how we play football, a way many teams can’t deal with

Great win today in front of a fantastic crowd, I think you could say we did Paul proud.
They tried to kick lumps out of us and the ref was worse than useless but we got there so well done to the team and management
See you all tuesday

Yes the ref was useless. Turned down two stonewall pens and gave us one that never was!

Sorry Andy, have to disagree. I was 3 metres from the penalty, straight in line. The ball was glued to Kaz's foot. The only way the defender was taking off him was by wrapping his ankles, and that's what he did.
Credit must go to Kaseem, superb control in a very tight situation.
The lad certainly has skills.

Fair enough, he got 1 of 3 right then!

And on Kazeem, his introduction changed the game.

It was a definite pen but the ref I think just guessed like he did for most of the game

at the time I thought that we should have brought Kyle on for Parker but Kaz did a good job when he came on so well done to him

Superb performance from everyone at the club today, the players, fans and management. A great display of attacking football and Witton's superior pitch suited our passing brand of football, and we always looked to get the ball out wide. Pontefract couldn't cope at times, so resorted to fouling, aided by the inept officials. They were a big physical side though, not easy to play against and our defence did well to keep them at bay for most of the game. Kazim's introductions was certainly an inspired one also, bags of potential that lad.

A great all round team performance and fantastic attendance that really does show the potential interest that is still out there. For me, this team is the best we've had yet, already breaking so many records in the cup and a joy to watch. An absolute credit to this fantastic football club. And now we're only three games away from Wembley, bring on whoever in the next round preferably at home.

A perfect day today in every sense and a fitting tribute to Paul Stockton. We should all be very proud.

Only because it would have given us some height up front like they had with their number 9 and it could have helped scotty who I thought was still very isolated at times, but kaz came on and did a great job and like Ben said his potential is unbelievable

Made 8 hours in a car worth it. I'm sure Paul would have been as proud of the team and all concerned as we all were.

Not sure whether they were so much a 'dirty' team as one which couldn't cope with the pace and movement when we were moving forward on the ball - most of the hackings down were very late "tackles", from the first few minutes where the No4 laid out Jake P. That should have been a yellow, and there was one flying two-footed lunge which fortunately missed late on in the second half which should have been red. Credit to the team for not in any way retaliating to some of the more agricultural methods of stopping us and for persisting with treating it as a football match.

Thought the defence was excellent across the entire back line, and Greg's handling on the many crosses aimed at their big forwards was faultless (plus the one flying save). And mention must be made by someone of Sam Hind's pinpoint cross onto Scotty's head for the second goal.

I also think that it was a penalty - even the slightest touch will set someone off balance when they are weaving their way through the bodies as Kazim was, and it was a bit more than a slight touch.

Personal opinion is that id rather see Phil Lea up front!! o_O.....but the Kyle Riley debate is for another day.
Today was about a great bunch of lads, a tribute to a fine man and enjoying the ride the Wayne and Paul are steering us on this season :D.

Seems like a few Witton fans and a certain Mr Tuck are very bitter... See the 'Not Official Witton Albion FC' Facebook page.

Absoloutely gutted that I wasn’t there today, but listening to the radio it felt like I was, despite being so far away. It sounded like it was a very testing match, but one we came through. It was great to hear we didn’t let the apparent physicallity of Pontefract get the better of us and we carried on with our game plan and get over the line. It was also great to hear the crowd get behind the team and then later on see how many there were in that crowd. 625 is a great turnout and way more than a lot of us probably thought we would get. As others have said, it does shows there’s still an interest in the green side of town. It’s been another proud day following the club this season and hopefully not the last.

In the hat for the last 16, which is what we all wanted today, especially for Paul. He’ll have enjoyed today, no doubt about it.

#ForPaul

One of the best games I’ve been to ( sorry best Aberdeen 2-1 Real Madrid European Cup Winners Cup final 1983 just wins) was so proud to be green . Can’t take anything away from how great we were, meaning players, supporters and everyone involved in this fantastic club of ours. I must admit though that their players and some of their supporters tried to spoil it though, very aggressive on and off the pitch. My request to actually see some of the game fell on deaf ears, 4 or 5 of their supporters stood the whole game and blocked my view, luckily only bottom corner of pitch, I asked but stayed in the way all game in non standing section. What I could see though was fantastic, a great tribute to a great chairman and friend, this was for you Paul.... We are 74 .....
