Didn't the same thing happen last year with Ryan Brooks?
 
Many clubs seemed to have made “signings” which they’re all excited about, but realistically you’d think weren’t in a position to offer contracts. So it’s all “hope & gentleman’s agreement “ in reality.
It seems petty to knock the enthusiasm and excitement when clubs think they’ve snagged a decent player, but football is a fickle game and all to often money can be a bigger motivator - not for all players though I hasten to add.

And that’s why, yet again, we do things the right way and only formally announce signings when the dotted line has been signed and the ink is dry!👍
