Indeed Edge. I don’t think that we’ll ever see the like of him again in the Non League game.

A real ‘hard man’ in the best traditions of the 70’s and 80’s, but there is no doubt he could play. He wouldn’t have achieved or won what he did without having some real ability.

Many memories of Johnny, the hat trick against Witton in the FA Cup at the Central Ground being one of them. All scored with his head. Always came across as a fearsome individual; committed and focused - or at least that’s what I’d tell him he’d asked me I think 😀
Played for Wigan Athletic too, I think that’s who we signed him from?
Rest in peace Kingy.
