With the sad demise of yet another rock great of my youth in Keith Emerson I've been wallowing a bit in ELP, and was reminded of the '74 link with the teams coming out to Fanfare for the Common Man in the early days.
Also astounded at Carl Palmer's drum skills - now that might get the Barton Stadium crowd going! Steve, get practising ;)

A rock great of my youth as well. You just couldn't beat a spot of Toccata or Karn Evil 9 blasting out, not to mention albums such as Trilogy, Tarkus and Pictures At An Exhibition. These guys were truly greats of their time. A shame that he felt that he had to take his own life.
A very sad day.

RIP Keith Emerson.
