Understandably many of the stories here are of problems being experienced by clubs around the country so I thought I would post about my local club in South London, Dulwich Hamlet, who play in the Ryman Premier League, and have had (are having) a remarkable turn round in their fortunes, which is totally fan led and community focused. Maybe there are a few things that we could use as well.

For years I watched games there along with 300ish other hardy souls with hardly any atmosphere whatsoever or interest from the local community but now over 1000 attend every game (approx 250% increase) and it really is an amazing buzz - like being at a party or rave. They are planning to collect food for the local food bank soon and give them tickets for matches plus play a game against the gay team Stonewall FC then go to a gay club and hand out tickets there. Amazing fan run initiatives to actively be inclusive and truly reach out to the community.

Here are some links if you want to read more (and find out how they did it)

Well done to them, perhaps things we can learn from.

I remember my trip down to Dulwich in the 80's, on our trophy run. Massive ground (Champion Hill??) and pink kit!

Yes Vicki that was probably my first visit to Champion Hill for our Trophy match and what a huge ground it was - more like Wembley than a non league ground. Now its a Sainsburys but the pink and blues play next door.

Fair play Dulwich, what did you recken to Erhun Öztümer and Danny Carr? Danny Carr looks like he wont make it at Huddersfield.

Carr was a good strong player but Oztumer was the star of the team for the last few seasons and a joy to watch. Not much bigger than my little finger but oozes class (certainly at this level) , a player that the whole game seems to revolve around and the team have taken a while to re-adjust.

Third in the Ryman at the moment and beginning to push Margate and Maidstone who until recently were walking it but are showing signs of slipping.
Cue home defeat by Leiston tonight.
