I also thing well done to streety, big physical side to break down, brave to go 3 at the back and throw McGowan on.... Game changer.

Well the first half was a whole other level of crap lets be honest but the second half was first class and proved the quality that we have, obviously the lesson learned from tonight is don't wait until your 2-0 down before we start playing lol

Snap what a great game to miss only missing for Squires Gate now then back to business instead of the dreaded heart racing updates on Twitter!
As good as last year's 8 goal extravaganza, I feel short changed only seeing 6 goals. Fair play to Congleton in the first half, although the penalty decision for the second goal was a joke (along with a few other mystifying decisions mostly in the home side's favour). Even the Congleton diehards thought the ref couldn't determine what constituted a fair tackle from a foul. The spirit shown by the whole of the team, particularly in the second half, was tremendous and much appreciated by the 1874 supporters, who provided the tremendous vocal support as called for at the "meet the players evening". If only we could be as close to the action at the St Lukes Barton Stadium as we are at many away games.
Fantastic second half. Shows what a great side we can be.
Thrilled for Sam to get 3. Thought Eddie and russy were great down the left and Tom lead the line brilliantly which allowed players to play off him.

First half Iv honestly never seen us play so poorly, we had no width too static we let congleton play decent football without charging them down and we didn't test there very dodgy keeper enough. Me and one or two fans at half asked some serious questions of streety and thankfully he delivered. The 2nd half we were superb non stop pressure and tore congleton apart brilliant nights worth of football well done lads let's keep it up

Great spirit to put right a disappointing first half. Kept battling, never gave up and showed the quality in the team. Tactical change was the trigger - hats off to Streety. Congrats to Sam on his first hat trick for 74 and to Scotty for a debut goal.

I think you must have been watching a different game!
Thought we were pretty decent first half, but a couple of individual errors/refereeing mistakes saw us going from dominating to being on the back foot at 2-0 down. The only thing that we didn't do right in the first half is catch a break!
Second half the subs were perfect, right players at the right times. Bails came on and gave us a bit better workrate in the middle against a tiring Congleton side, and when McGowan came on chances that just weren't falling first half suddenly started clicking.
Only one little bugbear from last night. At 4-2 up and dominating with just a few minutes left, why did we take the ball to the corner? If there was only one goal in it then I could understand, but there's no way Colne or Glossop in years past would have been doing that, they would have been building their goal difference!

What was good to see last night in the second half was players getting forward and playing off tom bailey and also we got lots of bodies in the box as well which I know we had to do at 2-0 down but it was still good to see, if we can start games in that way then we will batter a lot of teams this season

Was following the game on twitter at Orlando airport, didn't think at 2-0 down we would come back to win, made the flight back a whole lot more enjoyable! Got a good feeling about this season!
