Much better performance.

I felt we deserved to win. Atherton’s goal was their first shot on target. Gutting to concede so late.

We just need to be more clinical in front of goal as we had chances to put the game to bed. We also need to stop giving silly goals away as before their goal we had defended well.

A point on the road is okay though. Onto Hanley Tuesday now!
 
A much improved effort from last Saturday. As Ben said shame couldn’t clear the ball properly right at the end to concede equaliser. And I agree we need to be more clinical with attacking play but overall pleased with the effort and result. Especially as we are without key players.
Good performance from Ibeto, Osbourne and Blake I thought.
Hanley next - a difficult place to go to.
 
I scored it 9 shots to 3 to us. But although we had 9 shots only one was on target. I was impressed by Ben Crane today - he ran his socks off, took his goal well and was VERY close with 2 others. It was good to see so many shots from us. Overall I thought e looked really good and I felt as though we had lost because of their 89th minute equaliser.

Ben, I think I must have been at a different match. We were on top for most of the game, had something like 3 times the number of shots as them, and looked much the better side. Once they scored we did look as though we were hanging on, but a very one-sided report

I agree, Richard.

Our goal certainly wasn’t from the run of play and was well deserved. The whole report makes it sound like they dominated and we frustrated them with our ‘rigid and sturdy’ defence. Couldn’t be further from the truth.

A very one-sided report as you say.
 
Their running Twitter commentary wasn’t exactly aligned with ours either.
 
As for the game itself, I think with more composure when the chances came our way we would have won that easily.

I can count at least 10 times we were in very promising positions to either play someone in or get a shot on target and we failed to do either.

Better decision making and that turns into a great away performance. Instead, we are smash and grabbed by their only shots on goal.
 
Thought we did well and it was a shame they scored at the end, hopefully be ok if we can produce similar at Hanley tomorrow, hope the injured players are coming along ok.
I agree a very biased report and not really representative of the game.
