More Tory Cronyism. At least this has made it clear how much it costs to get a peerage - £500k

yep sounds a really corrupt sort of guy......................

Cruddas has stated his intention to give away £100 million to enable children who have a background like his to succeed. To achieve this he set up the Peter Cruddas Foundation in 2006 (charity number 1117323 and limited company by guarantee No 5940210), which is chaired by the former Conservative cabinet minister David Young, Baron Young of Graffham.[6] The other Trustees are Cruddas and Martin Paisner, a consultant partner in the law firm Berwin Leighton Paisner. The foundation provides cash grants who help disadvantaged and disengaged young people in the UK aged 14 to 30 into education, training and employment.

Cruddas is the largest individual donor to the Duke of Edinburgh Award International Association, a board member of the Prince's Trust,[17] and has donated to Great Ormond Street Hospital.[1]

Cruddas supported the Royal Opera House and The Royal Ballet, and after becoming a member of the Chairman’s Circle, in March 2012 was invited to become a Trustee and join the Board of the Royal Opera House

I support the RSPB, Dogs Trust, RSPCA, Brain Tumour Charity (for obvious reasons!) and St Luke’s Hospice.

So if I give a fiver to the Nasty Party, does this make me eligible for a peerage? 🤫😉

Compared to a self made billionaire from the back streets of London who uses his wealth to support deserving charities and provide opportunities for children from a similar background?

I have no doubt he knows which charities to support to "get noticed" let's say, but do we really have to rubbish everyone because of their political affiliations. Why do Labour peers get nominated? Generally because they have served their communities (and their country) in a splendid, selfless way. So lets stop all this petty rubbishing of people and concentrate on matters that count and issues where people have done actual wrong.

So answer me this. Why was his recommendation for a peerage rejected by the body that is the ‘guardian’ for such recommendations and why was this ignored by Boris? Call me cynical here, but maybe £500k had something to do with it🤫

Lord Cruddas resigned as the Tory treasurer in 2012 amid claims that he offered access to David Cameron and the former Chancellor George Osborne.

He successfully sued for libel, although the Appeal Court ruled that the central allegation of “cash for access” had been borne out.

So Edge, maybe this was the reason why Boris’s recommendation was initially turned down?

More Tory cronyism and corruption? Surely not?😉🤫

I wonder if Boris recalls this little gem uncovered by the Eye?

Oh wake up and smell the bloody coffee. How many times in the last 9 months have massive contracts been awarded to companies with strong links to the Tory party without due process or competition rules being followed? The Jenrick / Desmond stitch up re the Printworks site in E London that saved him £30M - yes, £30M - that would have been ploughed back into the local area to fund much needed infrastructure for the local community.
Shock horror! Another developer gets one of his sites approved on appeal and then bungs the Tory party £150k.

More cronyism.

Jesus, it is increasingly difficult to decide where I should post this. This one or in the general Johnson shit-show Section.

Matters not really. Just yet another example as to why this man isn’t fit to run a jumble sale never mind this once proud and decent nation

This is the guy. I’m sure that you are familiar with this picture. The infamous ‘Bullingdon Club’. Posh boys who liked to smash up restaurants. Included 2 future PMs and one Chancellor.

Imagine if a bunch of working class lads - black or white - had behaved like this. But this bunch of arrogant posh boys thought that they were above the law.

The bad news is that 30 years on, they still believe that they have this sense of entitlement. 😡😡

I’ll even include the photo this time!

What a nice bunch of lads.

From the latest edition of ‘The Eye’.

Old news granted, but HTF does this guy warrant a life peerage?

Mind you,

Taken from the latest edition of The Eye. Old news, granted, but HTF has he done anything to earn a life peerage?

And yet our mate Knutsfordian would wail and shout about how utterly in democratic this would be if, say, the EU gave jobs to unelected people…..
