Ron Carey

Indeed Alan. A good guy who had the town and the interests of 'ordinary' people as his primary objective.

Easy to scoff now at titles like 'Honorary Alderman', but Ron worked so hard for the town and indeed Cheshire as a whole.

RIP. A shame that I don't think we will see his like again.

Remember Ron visiting our Primary school on a couple of occasion to talk to classes about the dangers of trespassing on the railways.

Ron Carey was a very decent, well liked and well respected person. He was a politician that you could trust, never claiming expenses from the Council, which was quite unusual (I know, I paid them!). He helped so many people, everyone knew Ron.

I had a lot to do with him through his involvement with the Mid Cheshire Sheltered Workshop Trust (Petty Pool), he gave hours to the cause. A lovely man.

They named a park after him, if we were to erect a statute in town, he would be a deserving candidate. Obviously with a green scarf around his neck.

RIP Ron
