“The 2022/23 Northern Premier League season will begin on Saturday 13th August. The League has also confirmed that the League Challenge Cup will be suspended once again next season.”
Bit surprised at the latter decision, particularly given that Covid isn’t likely to be an issue.
I realise that since it was last staged the NPL has increased numbers-wise and this might make more difficult to complete.
But then again, as a result of only having 20 teams in our league, we’ve had an awful lot of blank midweeks since Christmas.
Were the clubs consulted on this? If so, then presumably the consensus must have been to postpone it for another year.
If the clubs weren’t consulted, why?
