Thanks for reminding me about Sam Kydd. We used to look out for him in films and he was usually there.
According to Wiki he made more films than any other British actor, although it would be a case of blink and you miss him in many of them.

there was a few actors along with Sam Kydd who were not major stars but seemed to be in every film from the 1950/60s the two i remember most were Victor Maddern who always seem to play military rolls and David Lodge who played the straight man in many comedy films .also an actor i think is name was Ian Cuthbertson who always played military officers ,Any more any one can think of
