Here's what Simmo thought:-

Frustrating afternoon for
@1874Northwich
. Showed hunger to recover from 1-0 down, but Irlam’s second goal had a dispiriting impact. Struggled for fluency second half, but lack of quality in final third - whether in decision-making or execution - was most infuriating.

Impressed with @IrlamFC today. Yes, they got lucky with an incorrect call in added time, but so much to admire about their performance. Clinical finishing, efficient defending, and in Max Bardsley-Rowe they had the game’s best individual player. Worthy victors

No doubt we were second best today, Irlam were quicker overall and closed us down with with ease it seemed. However, roll on Tues !!.

We need three players. Right back, centre back and proper striker. Hopefully Ash will fill the front role in time but we need either a replacement for Jacko or his return soon or this season will be beyond us before it's started on today's showing. Paul Connor on the bench as a proper right back, but Sam Hind on the pitch converted from striker???
Positive: Harry Cain is a player leagues below his potential and for the life of me cannot understand why he was substituted today. Irlam were relieved when he left the field.
However in these strange days these may be moot points anyway!
