Living in South London I have over the years watched Dulwich Hamlet and have enjoyed the growth of the club and the increase in attendances at Champion Hill. Unfortunately they were purchased by the property investment firm Meadow residential based in New York and you can guess what has happened. Top of the Bostik (Isthmian) League they have been banned from playing the last six home games at the ground and have even had their name trademarked by Meadow. Thankfully they are backed by Southwark council and the mayor of London Sadiq Khan so we shall see how this unfolds.

Dead right. How can they take away the name of such an old and well known club? Can't say I have ever been to their ground or seen them but what is happening there makes certain Vics owners look just dark grey and not completely black!
 
Yes, been observing this from afar on various forums.
"Sharp business practice", Bean called it, and meant that in a positive sense. No doubt this lot would also view the term as a compliment. Sadly not the first club to battle with megarich new owners who think they can gobble everything up, names and all. Sheffield FC had similar issues with elements of their history and trophies, I seem to recall.
 
Looks like the council may step in to purchase the ground for affordable housing and build a new one on land it owns adjacent to the present site.

I wonder what happened to Mr Bean and that other Scouse chancer who's name I cant remember.
Thank God we don't have to deal with those lowlifes anymore.
 
Yes that's right I remember now. How about Mr Bean whatever happened to him?
I do know what happened to Jim by the way.
