1874 Northwich have been asked to attend an interview at the FA's brand new, multi-million pound state-of-the art facility St Georges Park in Burton on the 22nd April.

The interview is to further support the new Club's application to enter the North West Counties League Division One - Step 6 in non-league football's pyramid system.

The fans run club - which was formed as recently as last November and is the newest football club in the land - has come a long way in such a short time.

"Many steps have to be taken along our exciting journey and this particular step is vital to continue our progress" said chairman Paul Stockton.

The club will be represented at the meeting by Chairman Paul Stockton, Treasurer John Coats and Board member James Wood - the latter being the responsible for co-ordinating the club's constitution, business plan and more recently the ground share agreement which 1874 have brokered with neighbours Winsford United.

The outcome of the interview will not be known until after the FA Leagues Committee has met on the 17th May to finalise non-league's structure for the 2013/14 season. The structure will be published on the FA's website after a decision has been reached.

"Nothing can be taken for granted in this situation but as I understand there is space for four teams in the North West Counties League Division One and there have only been three applications to join the league for next season", added Stockton.

Stockton closed by saying "We have a very determined and organised group of people on the Trust Board, backed by a vibrant and supportive membership who have endorsed every decision the Board has made in recent months. I would therefore like to take this opportunity to thank publicly the membership for their support and the Trust Board for all their hard work as we approach this critical phase in our short history!"
