1874 Northwich - Vacancy: Team Manager

1874 Northwich is looking to appoint an ambitious, forward-looking and dynamic person as the first manager of England’s newest football club.

Potential candidates should be able to demonstrate that they have the necessary experience and attributes to help deliver the aims and objectives of the club and be able to lead 1874 Northwich through its’ inaugural season - which we anticipate being at Step 6 - and beyond.

In particular, we are looking for someone who shares the ethos of what we are trying to achieve – which is to be an open, inclusive and democratically supporters-run club that puts the local community at the heart of what we do and wants to create a uniquely different model to the way that most football clubs are run.

But that does not mean that we are not ambitious and we do not want to be successful - far from it. Like any football club, we wish to win trophies and to achieve this we need to appoint a manager with the same aspirations as we do. However, we also need to ensure that our ambitions are balanced with the financial limitations the club will need to operate within.

So, in addition to ‘buying-in’ to our ideals, in order for you to be considered for the post, you will need to demonstrate that you have a thorough knowledge of the game together with managerial experience at Steps 5-7 (or equivalent) and have the necessary contacts to assemble a new squad of players that can compete at this level.

The playing budget will be in line with the League in which we are likely to be competing in as will any remuneration for the post-holder and their support team.

1874 Northwich FC is embarking on an exciting journey that all our supporters are really looking forward to. The team manager will play a hugely important role what we are trying to achieve so it is vital that candidates will have good man-management skills, commitment and the ability to make a difference at this level.

Applications should be sent in writing to 1874 Northwich FC, c/o 288 London Road, Northwich, Cheshire CW9 8DX or e-mailed to: [email protected]

Please note the closing date for applications is 29 March 2013 and interviews will be held during early April with the aim of confirming an appointment in mid-April.
