I have received the following information from someone 'in authority'!

"I seem to recall that a number of your travelling supporters are real ale drinkers and there are a few decent pubs in Mossley. Might I suggest one particular pub which may well be appreciated by the real ale fans. That is the Fleece.

Whilst most people may know the Commercial and the Britannia which are close to the railway station in Bottom Mossley, the Fleece is in Top Mossley and is 150 yards from the football ground (a level walk).

The Fleece is a basic no nonsense drinkers pub with a strong focus on real ale with usually a minimum of six real ales at least one of which is a stout or a dark mild. If there are any "regular" beers they tend to be from the Irwell Works brewery. The others can be from anywhere but tend to be local.

I guess it comes down to a choice for those traveling by train. Beer before climbing the big hill then the Commercial or Britannia it is. Or get up the hill first and then relax with some fine beer then the Fleece would be the choice".

I wonder who this person refers to......... :D
