Just a random thread for you to guess the top 5 for coming season

I'll go for Workington as champions
And in the play-offs Leek, Linnets, Macc & Clitheroe

My top 5 and champions would be the same as Edge.

As for our position, I’d take another 12th place finish, possibly top half depending on who comes in over the summer. A cup run would be great also.

Macclesfield - champions.
Not really clued up on the comings and goings so far over the preseason but i’ll stick my neck out and predict-
Hanley, Leek, Workington and Linnets to be in the mix for the play off spot.

I think Macclesfield and Witton will contest for top spot (not what I want though) and a top half finish for us would be a good season. Always 74

Confession time - I totally forgot about Hanley.
Now I know they're in the league I still don't think they'll make the playoffs.
It took ourselves & Bootle a while to adjust & I expect them, and Skem to take some time to find their feet.

Sadly I think Macc for title (if it's not going their way they will just buy it like last season).

Playoffs Linnets, Leek, Workington and one from Witton, Bootle or Clitheroe.

I'm assuming Macc will start badly as they seem to be starting from scratch again & I don't rate their manager.

I also doing think going full time will work out for them. Can’t imagine too many players will be willing to step away from their jobs to play for Macclesfield, especially with their reputation for being a revolving door for players

Macc have 13 friendlies in a month BEFORE the season starts. We all know how that sort of fixtures list works out!

They will buy the league again. The other contenders for promotion? Certainly Workington they absolutely blew it last season but not sure about the rest.

Bootle look a fair bet as the money they get from COL will help them. I can't see Linnets or Witton being title challengers but they could be in and around the playoffs.

It looks like we will have a rollercoaster of a season with some ups and downs so a finish mid table again will suffice. Lets just enjoy it and support the team and the Management.

I guess with them training full time then it's less of an issue for them

Sorry for butting in on your forum but now getting excited for new year ,Workington fan so just about recovered from a shocking end to the season but thankfully lost our manager but also 5 players so far. Macclesfield bound to be the team to beat with their budget, other than that probably wide open I'm hoping we can sneak under the radar this year as we dont have the intense local rivalry that most clubs in this division do ,good luck to yourselves as you were probably among the best supported clubs to visit Cumbria last season

Highlight of our away trips last season was the visit to Borough Park. For me it was like being a kid at a match back in the 70's again when so many grounds had that appeal and character. Thankfully you haven't left there for a new ground and long may it continue.

Really looking forward to our visit again this year and as we holiday in St Bees, Workington is a frequent visit.

Best of luck for the season ahead :)

Proper old-style non league ground and proper club Workington. Throughly enjoyed my visit last season and looking forward to it this one. Your fans were very gracious and full of praise for our performance and comeback when we looked down and out early in the first half. Even nearly won it at the end with that free kick rattling off the bar.

I’m sure Workington will be right up there next season. Best of luck!

Great traditional club Workington. I thought you were the best team in the league last season and was rooting for you to win the league over Rylands. The plus side is that we have 2 more fixtures to enjoy against you….the league is alot better with clubs like you in it. Best wishes for the season Mick….

Yep, best side I saw us play against at Townfield last season.

Missed the away game last year, but hopefully it will on a Saturday in October or April so we can have a good stop over in Keswick or Cockermouth?

This isn't going to plan.

All 3 of last years play-off sides haven't had a great start & Macc look like running away with it.
