So yet again the Tory government award a contract to a company who’s CEO is a big party donor. Only this time it isn’t for PPE but for the provision of food to needy kids. And what happens? They charge us taxpayers £30 for food that they say is for 10 days but is worth about a fiver and wouldn’t be enough to feed a mouse.

And here’s me thinking that this desperate Tory chumocracy couldn’t stoop any lower. But making gross profits from some of the most needy and vulnerable in our country just shows them for what they are....??

And check this out from the Chartwells Twitter page

“Nourishing young bodies and minds with exceptional food and learning. https://chartwellscanhelp.com

Surely it should read “Making a big wedge from hungry kids so we can give Boris and his chums some wonga”.

Cronyism is hardly breaking news...

Find a government that didn’t take part in Croyism, now that would be breaking news ?

But this shoddy bunch of self-serving scoundrels has taken it to a completely new level. That should be breaking news on the front page of every newspaper and every TV News programme!! But because of our hugely biased right wing printed press such matters never get a mention (apart from within the pages of the ever excellent Private Eye)

Surely even you with your azure tinted specs cannot do anything else but decry this simply dreadful exploitation of some of the most vulnerable people in our society? Namely kids from families who are on low incomes, tend to live in crap housing and suffer from poor education and health outcomes.

But never mind. As long as the CEO continues to earn his wedge and is able to put a brown paper envelope with £20k and give it to Boris and his chums then everything in the world is just hunky-dory???. Oh and we taxpayers end up paying 30 quid for food that is worth buttons

Yeah it’s wrong. But what’s the point getting so worked up about it? If you vote them out the next lot will be up to the same stuff. Nepotism is probably the one thing that unites the whole spectrum.

But, its good that it’s out there for people too see, we should know. The public have a right to be annoyed. It’s their tax money at the end of the day.

But when politicians point fingers at other politicians over it always look a bit daft. Usually the case of the pot calling the kettle black.

Its not just politics where “it’s not what you know, it’s who you know” applies.

The point about getting wound up about bit is because it is bloody well obscene, that’s why. And if you don’t want to right this kind of wrong then there must be something awry with your moral compass.

Hancock was asked the question did he regret voting against the move to provide needy kids with free school meals last summer SEVEN times this morning on GMB but he didn’t have the decency to say yes. Not even the merest whiff of an apology.

And then you have our PM lauding the tax-dodging co-owner of the Torygraph, a man so patriotic that he didn’t want to stump up his fare share of taxes to pay for the NHS our schools, care homes etc - like we ‘little people’ have to - whist 80000+ of these ‘little people’ aren’t around any more to hear his continuing stream of lies and deceit.

Does that answer your question?

Tory MP Paul Skully recently said that children have always gone hungry, yes but i bet they were not Tory children. His statement shows the true face of a caring Tory, a party who only ever wants to line their own pockets or the pockets of their friend's.

Nothing wrong with my Morale compass thank you very much. Very judgemental of you

I think your failing to see my point. When the Tories are gone the country will be run my a Labour Government and their cronyism. And then somewhere down the line it’ll be the Tories turn again. Rinse and repeat.

It’s wrong. But they’re all at it, and they always will be.

I’m not supporting it. It’s just life.

The Barclay brothers, owners of the Torygraph used to commute from their private island of Brechu in the Channel Isles to Battersea Heliport every day by private helicopter hence they didn't pay UK taxes.

Hold on folks !

Poor service and poor value for money isn't cronyism. It's just poor contract management whether that's done at a school, borough or national level. The contract managers should be taking the company to task before it ever becomes national news. If the contract owners/managers are not doing that then they should be moved on and employ people who do their jobs properly !

Stop bringing logic to this forum ?

Oh wake up and smell the bloody coffee. How many times in the last 9 months have massive contracts been awarded to companies with strong links to the Tory party without due process or competition rules being followed? The Jenrick / Desmond stitch up re the Printworks site in E London that saved him £30M - yes, £30M - that would have been ploughed back into the local area to fund much needed infrastructure for the local community.

But Labour ‘cronyism’ as you call it doesn’t take money away from the most needy and vulnerable in our society and give it to the richest and most privileged who don’t need it.

And as for me being judgemental- well I say as I see (or read).

I think it's far too easy to throw out allegations of cronyism. I suspect you are correct that in this pandemic, normal procurement procedures have by necessity been reduced to shorten lead times for delivery, but its a step change to say that contracts were awarded through or in return for political favours. Anyone found guilty of such behaviours should be removed from office no matter which party they belong to.

You know that’s not true James. The last Labour government we had were literally involved in a scandal nicknamed “Tony’s Cronies”.

If you still want to think somethings wrong with my morale compass you go ahead. You’ve always felt disdain for anything I’ve said on any subject, so it’s nothing new ?

The unions are at it. Like I said. It’s not just restricted to politicians.

Unite, Britain’s most powerful trade union, gave multimillion-pound contracts to a company whose owner is under criminal investigation for bribery. The Union also handed out another £50 million contract to a company owned by Liverpool Mayor Joe Anderson’s son.

Ok it's rife, so start at the top and cut the head off the serpent.

I despair at Unite, I really do. Problem is that they are not a lay- member lead organisation like the Union I was a member of until September - Unison. McCluskey and his cronies do have too much power. Compare this to Unison who have just elected a moderate woman candidate as General Secretary.
Another big difference of course is that the Unions aren’t spending public money - unlike this shower who continue to spaff away £Ms without any comeback ?

40 grand bonus for Dominic Cummings. £22 billion for failed Serco Test and Trace. Over £1 billion in contracts for their mates and cronies.

But they then vote for £1,000 a year cuts for 6 million families struggling to make ends meet in the most difficult circumstances.

And people wonder why I utterly loathe and detest these shower of conmen, frauds and charlatans. Twenty friggin quid a week. Twenty measly quid a week. Is that too much to ask?

No emoji sums up the anger and contempt I have for this “government”
