Community Clean up

We've tried to take on something similar to this a while ago and got some great publicity in the Guardian from Northwich Rugby Club's Fair.
Rather than taking on and committing ourselves to a pledge we have an opportunity here to work in association with a leading group and if it's to be of benefit to the clean up group, the community and to 1874 Northwich FC we'll need at least 5 - 10 volunteers for this to make an impact.

Volunteering will not be regular commitment.

I think it sounds like a perfect fit for the projects team

The Projects Team consists of volunteers Mark, I'm the Projects Team Co-ordinator and I'm asking for volunteers.

Maybe if I sold tickets, got some entertainment and sold beer, they'd be a few more fans willing to come forward.... lol

If we're to be recognised as a force in the community we need to commit to projects such as these. We need to stand out above all the other sports clubs in the area who don't participate in community activities. We need to be seen to be making a difference in our community and that can be achieved with a bit of spare time, effort and sweat.

Hopefully an article in the weekly newsletter might get a bit more interest.

Cheers for the offer Dave but I'm stepping down from Community Projects, going to concentrate on charity fundraising instead.

1874 Northwich have been asked by Northwich Clean Team if we could provide volunteers to help with tidying up the grott spots around Northwich.
This is a result of an enquiry I made to the council asking whether our football club could assist in upcoming community projects. Involvement will not be until the beginning of March, and at this moment I don't have a specific date. It will be a couple of hours on a Sunday morning.
I think that this is a fantastic opportunity for the club to show its commitment to the local area, and to further our links with local community groups.
If any members feel able to volunteer a few hours towards this project, please let me know and I will provide more details as soon as I hear from the Clean Team.

Pleased to see that you've followed up on this Steve. I spoke with Northwich Clean Team over 12 months ago and tried to rally the troops but got no interest. I still have the litter pickers issued by CWCC Street Scene, I can drop them off at the BS if you like.

If you're organising this I'd be prepared to give some time in the name of the club.

That's great Tony, much appreciated.
I will let you know when I get more details.
Thanks
Steve

Due to various holiday commitments the date has been set for March 22. David from the Clean team will contact me nearer the time with details of the exact location. I will start looking for volunteers in the next couple of weeks, but don't want to push to much until after the Food bank campaign.
I do hope that people will support the clean up, as this is a great opportunity to build important contacts with Northwich town council. I appreciate your commitment to this idea Tony and with the help of people like you, I am sure that we can make this a success.

Joint project with Northwich Clean Team confirmed for morning of Sunday 22nd March. This is a really good opportunity to become involved with an established organization in Northwich, and has the full backing of the local press.
Please help if you can, lets put on a good showing. If you can join us, catch me at a game or email me [email protected].
Thanks
Steve
1874 Community Development

Here is another good way to show how 1874 can support others as a community club. Word of mouth is the best form of advertising for our club and with all the good publicity that this and other initaitives, like the Food Collection bring, our fan base can only grow over the coming years. Count me in Steve thanks for your effort in making this happen. Will the drum be in attendance?

Not sure whether the Drum would be appreciated in Northwich on a Sunday morning, but its a thought.
Might need to strap it on my back, leave my hands free for litter picking.

If your available Sunday morning 22nd March, please join in the Community Clean up with Northwich Clean team.
A great chance to promote 1874 within Northwich.

Unfortunately this initiative had had to be postponed.
Northwich Clean Team have informed me that they are unable to attend on the agreed date. Due to insurace reasons we are unable to operate in a stand alone capacity and have decided to postpone for the time being.
I have asked Northwich Town Council and the Clean Team to let me know when another opportunity to assist arises.
Thank you to all who volunteered.
