I think this is the strongest squad we've had so far. Our results in pre-season (yes I know you can't read too much into it) are very encouraging, especially those against higher-league opposition. So we have to believe we can do it! :scarf:

Voted for us however it's going to be very tough and with the squad we have now comes more pressure on the lads to try and achieve promotion just how they can manage that pressure mean look at Linnetts the squads they have had over the past few seasons and still are here taking nothing for granted yet.

We should all believe until it is impossible!
From what I saw at Prescot, why not!!

The squad most definitely have the quality and the know how to win the league.

Personally, it'll be down to luck and mentality. If we can get a spell where we have minimal fixture disruption e.g. weather and not lose momentum from it, then that will help and that can be the luck part, along with one or two other factors that would be considered 'luck'.

Then there's the mentality. Pretty much the whole squad are under the category of 'been there, done that', especially when it comes to getting out of this league. That is something that we might've lacked a little bit in the past and would struggle to look further past a couple of players that showed good leadership, but we have plenty of that now. It's a case of can they do it again. It'll feel rather familiar to a lot of players, they all know each other most of them, they are at a club with a good fan base and are one of the contenders for the league. It does bode well for us, but we could also end up like Linnets as nearly men. There have been Linnets teams in the past that definitely had the quality to win the league, but would end up finishing runners up and that is potentially a mental block for them. Something we don't want.

As I've said, we've got the quality, but do we have the extras needed to get over the line. I think we do, but so do other teams, it's going to be an interesting season ahead and I, for one, am looking very forward to it.

One of the extras are the additional costs of operating in a higher League and and one which the Owners need to think about.

If we win this League and being an ambitious Club then we must go up.

Quite right about the funding, that's why we need to get as many supporters and family and friend's in the easy fund raising scheme,it cost's nothing and could raise a lot of income for the club,so why not join it and get as many people in it as you can.If we are to move forward we need as many fund raising idea's as possible,so join to-day.

We have a good fundraising system in place in the silver membership system, but not enough is made of this. I pay £10 a month but get nothing for it. There should be some perks, such as a free programme, free entrance to one league game, free pie...something to entice people to join up.

I also pay £10 a month but disagree with perks because I think you are defeating the object.

A subject area which has been discussed from time to time over the last few years. I'm not sure we are any further forward in finding an answer though Kit  :(

At the risk of sending the thread off at a tangent, we either need to have a clear differentiation between the two membership levels or as we've discussed (on previous occasions) or combine them.

Different people have different views on the subject and I'm not suggesting either point of view is necessarily wrong. Maybe it's an issue which should be resolved at Board level or put out to the whole membership in a vote at the AGM rather than it rumble on much longer?

Please don't get me wrong, Kevin. I am happy to pay my £10 a month and get nothing in return except knowing I'm helping in some small way. I would probably pay more. I'm talking about growing the membership, and like Alan said, differentiating the difference between being a silver and a bronze member.

Perhaps the time has come for one membership level, separated into family/group and individual? If there is a concern that anyone will be disinfranchised by the decision then perhaps the finer details can be looked at and some sort of resolution identified? Either way it's certainly a discussion we should be having as a club/ Board/group of fans/membership.

I think the majority of the silver members are happy paying the money & seeing no extras.
To attract more silver signups then the club will need to offer a few carrots.
Not sure what though - gift voucher for the shop maybe? An annual prize draw?

Might be worth seeing what other Trusts do.

Quick post to ask why would AFC Liverpool be in contention, have they suddenly discovered a pot of gold? From that list looks like there is no moneybags team, making this your best chance to go up for the next few years.
