JRFC wins fair play award

Fair Play competition works on yellow and red cards only.

So JRFC and Fair play in the same sentence is a straight RED CARD!

You would have to have a heart of stone not to laugh.

On the Witton website it said that three Glossop players had to be hospitalized after the game with JRFC, very sporting!

Is there still the matter of the outstanding winding-up order on-going?

Conspiracy to Supply Class A carries a maximum sentence of life, but I would imagine that in this case, given the quantities involved and given the comparative paucity of firm evidence, your guess will be pretty accurate. Not sure of the grounds for any appeal, though. Something for our favourite ex FA official to ponder maybe? Not sure "it is all a big misunderstanding" or "the fax didn't arrive" or "I'm not directly involved, I'm a voluntary consultant" will sway a judge, let alone a sponsored walk (or bike ride) to the courtroom by the massed FC supporters.

95% of 8 years is 7 years 7 months and 1 week, by the way.

Potentially 9-12 years, depending on how they ultimately class the misdemeanour. Judge did suggest a stiff sentence in his summing up I think?

A friend who is in the legal profession and has experience of this suggested 12-14 years particularly as JR claimed he was not guilty even though he was found guilty.

I also suspect a cleverer, less arrogant and more astute man awaiting sentence would not mix with the "dodgy" characters that JR was photographed with at Witton particularly if he was going to play the reformed character card in any future appeal, a fact which the sentencing judge may be aware of.

I wonder if Colin is going to organize a "JR is innocent" and "Boycott the Northwich Guardian because it reports the facts" campaign?

Or perhaps trips on Visiting Day?

Bets on sentence?
I'd say..
1 to 8 or 7 reduced to 4 on appeal
Very good Tony, I got the joke if nobody else did. On a serious note I think he'll get at least 7 years. I noticed that a drugs courier pleaded guilty at Liverpool in an unrelated trial whilst the Rushe case was on. He was caught with a similar amount and purity of cocaine. He was given 4 years and 4 months in jail after his 30% tariff reduction.

I'm more interested to see the FA's response, if any, as they can't comment or act till after a sentence is passed. Will they investigate what is going on especially given the prosecution case against Rushe.

FA won't act, it sets a prescident to look into any dodgy person linked to a football club.
