AFC Blackpool

Wow..disagreeing about the drum, and mentioning the bench had been fully rotated, (despite the fact it had been mentioned!)
I bet you couldn't get your opinion in quick enough!!
Btw, the drum probably wouldn't bother me if I listened to it as few times as you!

It was just that ...my opinion.
And you are probably right that I might not find the drum quite so invigorating (?) if I didn't have to travel 250 miles to hear it. ;)

Personally I like having the drum, but they divide opinion everywhere and understandably so.

Anyway, only managed to watch the last 20-25 minutes of the second half, but even then, I could tell it was a bit flat and everyone is kind of already looking forward to next season despite having a couple of games left, summed up by there already being a notice for our pre-season game against Sheffield United. Hats off to whoever sorted that one out, promises to be a good day.

Onwards to Glossop, should be a good game.

Whilst obviously disappointed at the result (but well done to Blackpool) my biggest disappointment was that most fans walked away with their heads down and the players didn't get a chance to come back out at the final home game and celebrate another superb season with a 'lap of honour'.

Our away support is usually very decent in numbers, perhaps everyone who travels to Nelson will stay (win, lose or draw) and acknowledge our fantastic squad.

If the drum isn't there, usually there is no singing, we need a catalyst Blackie, the drum provides that. Maybe find a place on the opposite side if you hate it that much?

the drum pretty much creates the atmosphere and without it there wouldn't be any, Lots of fans don't even manage to clap our subs on and off, We are far to quiet as supporters, Being a good distance from the pitch doesn't help.

Vicki, it might be better to do the 'lap of honour' before the match next year. Even when you really appreciate a great season, people don't want to hang around after matches, especially after a disappointing performance. When you also factor in the fact that there were two big games on TV to get home for, it's not surprising no-one stayed. Not a criticism, just pointing out it probably wasn't that people were apathetic about the season.

Plus, there is a number of fans, who have stayed away since the loss to Linnets as there was pretty much nothing left to play for, who will be back next season!

Still a good attendance for a team with nothing left to play for.

Very flat performances where the team just didnt start and a hungrier more energetic Blackpool took advantage in some complacency.

Agree the comments about some players looking tired, why wasn't Wellstead used? Hardly played lately so would of been fresh and could if rested others for Monday. Also why oh why hasn't Duckworth played, we were crying out for some wide delivery yesterday, he hasn't played in many games so would of provided fresh impetus.

Great to see some distant friends at the game yesterday, hopefully more trips can be made next year from them.

Agree the comments about lap of honour, I wanted to watch the evening premier game so just fell at a bad time for me.

Let's give the boys and the management team a rousing reception next Saturday, they absolutely deserve it.

They do Vicki and I was one of the ones who went home and never gave a thought to the lap of honour which in hindsight would have good to show the lads our appreciation.
I was just dissappointed that we couldn't win I suppose, Anyway should make for a good game tomorrow now GNE have won the league.

I try!!..
Perhaps it's just grumps as I came down the other day despite having a banging headache....the last thing I needed was the drum.
I agree the drum can create an atmosphere. But sometimes it's banged just for the sake of it....ands that's the annoying bit!

Blackie,
Sorry about your headache, I honestly try not to annoy people.
I took on the drum after months of discussion on here regarding atmosphere and that someone should bang the drum.
I try not to overdo it. I hit it sometimes to add to an already great atmosphere, and sometimes I hit it to try and get an atmosphere going. Sometimes its difficult if the game is a bit dead and the crowd is quiet.
Anyway, I'm sure things will get better next season, especially when I get the TRUMPET !!!! :):):scarf::):)
Cheers
Steve
