Would like to wish Glossop all the best for the second leg of the semi-final. It seems as though they have one foot at Wembley with a 2-0 lead from the first leg.

If only we hadn't had one sent off against them could it have been us? That thread is long gone but it has to be a priority again for next season as Glossop will gain financially from their run so will be strong next season. Personally I hope they win the league so they go up.

That can't be right? There's no way their ground can hold 9 thousand. I know it was a sellout, but thought it would've been 1,500-2,000 max. Either way, still a great crowd and they may well take 9 thousand down to Wembley with them!

Watched a very lack luster display by Glossop last night at Runcorn Town 0-0. They couldn't find a way past their defence, and when they did in injury time missed an absolute sitter. They'll have to play better at Wembley. Runcorn's only shots were from two bad clearances from the Glossop goalkeeper.

They are still favourites for the title needing two wins from five games (Silsden, Nelson, Us and the two Runcorn teams).

Ideally I would love us to clap them out as champions next Monday and then beat them!!

Just looked at my last post on this subject. We actually did beat them!

10 Greens went to watch the final on Saturday at Wembley so we did have shirts in the crowd!!

I think the overall verdict was that we could have easily give both teams a good game on that performance. I won't go into the match details etc. just to say that I don't think either team really deserved to win. Glossop's first half, then sat back and waited for North Shields to score. Extra time was taken up by many players, especially North Sheilds after they had scored! going down with cramp. The incident with Dave Young being knocked unconscious, then not being allowed to carry on was unfortunate but I don't think that this would have a bearing on the result.

So wish it was us at Wembley. Maybe next year when it will be played with the FA Trophy final so expect a gate of around 20,000 for the two games.
