Too much time on my hands

As some of you may have noticed there has been a bit of a lull regarding coverage of recent games. This is due to several reasons not least some problems with equipment, which unfortunately has resulted with the loss of all footage from our fantastic game at Bishop last week.
This has been particularly frustrating and upsetting for me personally as I am responsible for the equipment.
The problems I have had, have basically polorised my thoughts in deciding to cut back on the amount of games I cover. I am basically using most of my weekends (when we play!) covering our football club in one way or another and Sundays are a non event, family wise, so I hope you will all understand that from now on I shall be picking and choosing the games I cover.

If someone was to volunteer to help out and maybe share the load, I would be more than happy to show the ropes so to speak with not just filming but editing and publishing, if there are no takers then the coverage will be less than you have been used to.

I will (hopefully) be filming our Vase game against Glossop next Saturday, but want to also get back to being a supporter sometimes,so shall not be filming the game on Tuesday.

Hope you understand,
Chubbs.

Im sure everyone appreciates all you have done Chris. Its a huge commitment that takes up a hell of a lot of your spare time.

Chris,
so sorry to hear that you are cutting back on the filming, but I fully understand and appreciate your reasons for not doing so, it really can eat into your time, and as you say, Sundays can become a bit of a non event, as a result.

I was also at the Bishop Auckland game and did capture the action. As I have said before, I don't have the skills and knowledge to edit, but I would be happy to hand over my footage if you want it. It would need some heavy editing, due to some choice language, (mainly by me, i'd forgotten how much a cup game can bring out the passion in me) but you are more than welcome to it.

As regards future games, well being a distant fan, I cannot get to all games, but if I do attend a game, I generally film it. The club will always be welcome to any footage that I take. I hope to be down early for the game on Sat, so will speak to you then to see if there is some way to work things out.

In the meantime, I would also appeal for any local fans to take you up on your offer, after all, we are a fans club, run by the fans for the fans, so if fans don't come forward, then fans will miss out. It would be sad if no one does, but that is life I suppose.

Finally Chris, I would just like to thank you for all your time and efforts, as a distant fan it has meant a lot to me to be able to see my team when I have not been able to get to games.

See you all on Sat.

Just as an afterthought, my other club, Bradford Park Avenue, have, in the past, used students to get their games filmed.

Perhaps it is worth exploring whether the club could link up with Mid Cheshire College or the like to utilise the services of a student(s) who is studying media or something similar.

Just an idea.

Your efforts have been hugely appreciated by us distant folk Chris, and I fully understand your wishes to share the load and regain a bit of a personal life.

Hope someone local can take up the challenge - or indeed a media studies college student (what a good idea!)

Hi Chris, I go to most matches, the only ones I miss is usually Tuesday night away games, I don't have any experience at photography but would be willing to learn about filming a game and editing etc if you dont mind showing me the ropes. My only problem is I can't stand for long periods so is there anyway I could do this seated, either in the stand or pitch-side on a chair. I would gladly give my time to help out you and this amazing club. Being disabled sometimes stops me offering my help to ground improvements etc but willing to do what I can to help.
I love watching your TV matches and was so looking forward to watch recent games so I hope something can be done to help keep us televised :scarf:
