At todays game we had a lot of the game against the nine men and because things wheren't going our way for most of them we the fans had a go at the players (including me) but it made me realize, at most of our matches we out number the opposition fans by at least 5;1 but do we take that advantage, if we are the 12th player ,do we make ourselves known as such and support the players through good and bad. We need to make ourselves heard so the opposition know how we the supporters make them make the mistakes

we panicked and tried to rush playing the long ball. Needed to keep cool and think about it!

Have to agree about the atmosphere Trev, it's awful, seems strange that we play much better football and create a much better atmosphere at away matches. Not sure why that is but we do need someone to get that drum going with a group of fans that can create some 'noise' and support for our lads.

We need to get the ball down and play and stop looking for the killer ball, their first goal came from excately that when we won the ball then should have played it easy.
I agree with many that the pitch is a little "bumpy" and the grass is too long that often slows down the play, but we need to keep possesion. Also play with width, today was even worse when down to nine men we persisted in playing to direct down the middle., instead of stretching sides. We are capable of playing some good stuff and each player gives 1oo % which is good to see.

Great shout trev.

Feel sorry for the players with fans like Andy and Kev. They worked there socks off. They changed formation to chase the game and won. Yet we still moan.

Hope the players ignore silly shouts like this!

D.Jgreensfan - how can saying they are capable of playing some good stuff and seeing each player giving 100% be a moan?
Just think playing against 9 men we needed to make the ball do the work instead of playing to direct, hope the players dont ignore "silly shouts" like this.

Gents.

Do you think the lack of atmosphere is to do with the design of the Barton Stadium and having the remains of the dog track between the pitch and stands which is a handicap to the intimate atmosphere that we get at smaller away grounds where players can be addressed individually.

If so, what can we do about it?

It would not be hard to erect a fence behind each goal with the supporters standing on the grassed areas. After all the "old dog track" will never be used again so why is it kept?

The simple fact of the matter is that we were awful even against 9 men and that is something that the manager needs to sort out quickly, and we can't use the excuse that the players are still getting used to each other. Why the hell we are playing 4-5-1 at home I will never understand and nobody gets forward to support Mike Brandon, it's something that the manager needs to sort immediately.

Like I said, I feel sorry for the players. We're meant to be fans. We got through 3-2 against a team who have only lost 1 all yr. out lads were the better team for 120 mins! Keep it up lads ur doing a great job!

Where is Ian?

Ground grading rules forbid spectators standing on grass. If the fences were to be brought in then hardstanding would have to be put in too.

Thought the Hanley number 5 was a very good player. They were the better team until their lack of discipline let them down and 1874 struggled to make an impact even after the sendings off. I agree that the pitch seems bumpy as there were numerous times that players hit wayward passes/shots due to the ball bobbling at the last minute but at least we're through to the next round, which is the most important thing.

Just because we are a new, community club doesn't mean players and management should be above comment and criticism. I didn't go today but we were appalling against Formby and it doesn't sound much better today. It is a two way thing, atmosphere is generated by the play you are watching, it is difficult to get excited at the moment! Most of us would have expected better performances by now if we're being honest and tactics are definitely questionable. That's not to say I don't have faith that we will be there or there abouts at the end of the season.

No problem with giving encouragement but players should get use to taking the rough with the smooth.
First 90 minutes we were poor, especially when Hanley lost two players, which we didnt use to our advantage. Similar to last weeks match against Formby, when we didn't test the replacement goalie from range. Why do we constantly want to walk the ball over the line. I personally would like to see more strong hard ranged shots followed through.
